I've never had issues with the blade closing on me when I'm opening a backlock, but I can certainly appreciate the possibility is there.

To be more clear here, I didn't mean Spyderco backlocks. The hole in the blade definitely gives us a secure opening method. I was talking more about the "Grandpa" style backlocks that have a nail nick. Sometimes you just don't have a good grip on the blade when opening them.

i was thinking about this yesterday. i don’t think it would be a problem. think about all the stainless stuff we take in the ocean that does just fine. there are plenty of stainless steels that are highly resistant to corrosion that just don’t make blade steel. i mean, people wear stainless watches diving. they have stainless cases, but they also have springbars that survive. i’m thinking even the standard spring would probably be fine as long as it’s rinsed. the bearing and lock assemble could be made of lc200n also. of course, that might lead to issues with the spring being a different steel in contact with the lc200n.

Make it FRN, not FRCP, and make it a back lock.

I would be in for it if it were the LC200N Manix 2 XL LW.

As already stated in previous post: YES! Though for me the XL and LW are the important points. Would not mind S30V at all, no real need for LC200N
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

I just adore the Manix LW, so I wouldn’t be opposed to a rust resistant version of it!

Just got my Translucent Blue BD-1 Manix LW in the mail today! The Manix LW is such a great knife. With screw construction it would even better and near the top of my list! I do hope we will see a Manix LW Salt in DLC LC200N with translucent neon yellow (or green or orange) FRCP soon!

I like the idea of a Manix XL Salt I think they should do like it with a compression lock. Best of both worlds.

We NEED a Manix 2 LW in LC200N. I would have liked to have it before the Native or the Caribbean.

I love the M2 LW. I have big hands and I can easily use the knife. I measured the distance from the rise of the finger guard to the rise of the pommel on the Military and the M2 LW, and guess what? They are the same size between those two points.

I'm with you. The Manix LW is really a great knife, pins or no pins (screws WOULD be nice). A DLC LC200N Salt in Translucent Neon Yellow FRCP would see a lot of pocket time. I'm not really into the Caribbean either, but I do like my Native Salt very much!

I think I saw where Eric told someone at Amsterdam that the new salts with LC200N will get bright green scales. I am guessing something similar to the USN knives. Now that would be really nice. Many of us have been asking for that. (I wonder if that color can be done translucent?)

I'm guessing that is for the Seki produced Salts since the Native Salt was yellow, but I could be wrong. Just guessing.

Can you imagine how awesome a venom green translucent handle would look on this knife?

I'm with you! I really like the translucent blue on my Manix LW. I'm up for any new color! Venom Green would be awesome! I just really hope they offer a DLC option for whatever color they go with on the Manix LW Salt!

I'm down if it can be made:

1) sufficiently rustproof (rest of the handle hardware)
2) with screw construction, though i could be sold on pins if they're more rustproof than screws.
3) with an available sheepsfoot blade profile
EDC Rotation: PITS, Damasteel Urban, Shaman, Ikuchi, Amalgam, CruCarta Shaman, Sage 5 LW, Serrated Caribbean Sheepsfoot CQI, XHP Shaman, M4/Micarta Shaman, 15v Shaman

Special and Sentimental: Southard, Squarehead LW, Ouroboros, Calendar Para 3 LW, 40th Anniversary Native, Ti Native, Calendar Watu, Tanto PM2
Would like to own again: CQI Caribbean Sheepsfoot PE, Watu
