Caribbean Behind the edge thickness?

#1

Post by The Meat man »

I'm curious. I just watched a YouTube video where a guy said his Spyderco Caribbean measured only 0.013" behind the edge. That sounds awfully thin to me - 13 thousandths is what my SAK is.

Those of you who have one, can you tell me what your's measure? Are the Caribbean knives really that thin behind the edge, from factory?

Thanks!

It is quite thin behind the edge. I measured mine when I received it and remember it being ~ 15 thousandths

One of the best Spyderco knives ever IMO

0.013 is thin, but not exceedingly thin. I personally wish most factory knives came with a small measurement behind the edge.

Thanks for the replies!

So, apparently the Caribbean's edges are being ground thinner than usual. That's a pleasant surprise, especially considering the size of the knife and the blade stock. This makes me even more interested in getting one.

I agree RazorSharp, I'd love to see some more thin edges.

It's on par with some of the thinner options, the Chaparral comes to mind.
