A Para 3 by any other name is still a Para 3. (Apologies to M Stein)

Or (sorry couldn't help interjecting my version to fit the original quote a bit better)

A Para 3 by any other name would cut as deep.

The issue is one of using the same type of symbols (Arabic numerals) to denote knife iterations and blade lengths. I've suggested using Roman numerals for iterations in the past (Para Military II, Delica IV, etc.) but that's still a number, so there would still be a confusion when the name is not in written form. I'm not sure what else to use, but I'd say that the blade lengths should get a new designation system as they're a bit less common than iterations. Maybe just rename them? Caly Standard, Caly Max, Para Mini, and so on.

We had a poll and suggested all sorts of names. In the end they seem to have gone off in their own direction with it. The name never really made sense to me so I am no more confused now than I was then. Honestly, the name isn’t the only thing about this knife that doesn’t make sense to me. ;)
Maybe not sense, but cents... and $$$ :D

My Para 3 has all of those characteristics except a slight roughness on the spine. Never noticed. Doesn’t impair function. Remember, nothing in the world is perfect. I think it will serve you well.

The name if the knife is the Para 3.

The reference in the video was an honest mistake, as was the error in the labeling of the C223GPBNBK.

We apologize for any confusion these errors may have caused and sincerely hope you consider raising your threshold of "calamity"...

Stay safe,

Mike

I was just having a bit of fun. I took your advice and checked the definition of calamity.

It seems they had knives in mind when the word calamity was derived. So maybe this is just that, a Para 3 calamity. :)
Word Origin & History
early 15c., from Middle French calamite (14c.), from Latin calamitatem (nominative calamitas) "damage, loss, failure; disaster, misfortune, adversity," origin obscure. Early etymologists associated it with calamus "straw" (see shawm); but it is perhaps from a lost root preserved in incolumis "uninjured," from PIE *kle-mo-, from base *kel- "to strike, cut" (the handle of a sword or dagger).
Can you find it and can it cut?
