A tip for opening the Ikuchi

#1

Post by Catamount123 »

If you use the thumb opening method, the knife has a tendency to jump out of your hand, if you’re not careful. Rather than holding it vertically, like a lighter, try holding it horizontally, with your palm up. I have found it is much less likely to jump out of your hand this way.
I don't get people who only carry one knife :thinking ;)

Yes this is how I open it most of the time, easier for me this way. Also pressing the comp lock + wrist flick to open it

I can't even come close to opening it with my thumb. Index finger works well. I noticed there's a detent ramp which is a nice touch. Do other Spydercos have a detent ramp?

All the advice here is sound, but I hadn’t tried this.
Works really well if your finger-shape allows good contact with the lockbar.

Thanks Spydergirl!

If I do the lighter flick I put my pinky and ring finger tightly on the pocket clip that's the only way I can do it, gets more natural with practice
