Reunited

Well I went to my mothers house yesterday to do some work for her. I passed by her truck and low and behold spotted this old Delica sitting in her center console. I opened the door, picked it up and realized that this was my first knife (and Spyderco) ever that I bought at a gun show with my dad when I was a little kid! I asked her how it ended up in here and of course she couldnt remember, probably cleaning out my old room years and years ago, who knows. This is knife that started it all for me, and Im pretty pumped to have it back. It was rusty and the tip was snapped off so I cleaned it best I could and reground a tip on there. The lockup is absolutely rock solid still, makes me kind of miss these old pinned pivots. Anyone else have any similar Spyderco stories??

Nice regrind on that blade. I have a couple of traditional folders from my childhood I wouldn't mind finding. I'm sure they're long gone. Doubt I'd want to use them now.

Thanks 👍
Don’t think I’ll use this one either. It will probably be my oldest sons first real knife when he is ready.

I recently found my BSA knife. It’s around 50 years old and still in good shape. As I recall it was my first folding knife. L :)

I've still got my old blue Cub Scout knife from 55 or so years ago. My best friend stole my Boy Scout knife.

This is a great thread! Congratulations on finding your first knife. There's nothing quite like that feeling! I'd love to find the Leatherman PST that I lost almost 15 years ago. It belonged to my Dad, which we got for him back in 1984.

I do. Maybe 6 months ago I posted about my maroon forum Native that fell into a drawer and was missing for almost a year. My wife insisted that the plumber took it because it went missing around the time we had some work done. But I always assumed it would turn up eventually.
