Sweet.
You were one of the people that inspired me to upgrade to the deep carry clip.

Doesn't seem like much should really protrude from the pocket in stock configuration- there's under 2.5 inches of total handle. I just can't get into that knife, it's a we little thing with 3mm thick blade, seems unnecessary. Are people doing "hard use" with a 1.5" bladed 2 finger grip knife? I prefer little knives to be slicey and agile.
Understandable.
I use my McBee in a neck-knife/dogtag configuration & the new clip allows it to hang better as a pendant.
Image
Also, the stock clip was extremely stiff due to it being so short & made of steel. The new clip has just enough spring that it's much more comfortable to use.

This is awesome! I have several of this specific clip so I think I’ll do your mod to my mcbee right now. Thanks!
Did you try out the clip?

I did, but I used an extra two-hole clip like the one Spydiegirl is using because it more closely matched the finish of the Mcbee and was more subtle than the one you modified (in my opinion only).

Clips aside, that is one cool knife. Small but surgical. It’s not on my need list, but certainly on my want list.

Its pretty beefy for being this compact.
I recall seeing somebody selling custom scales for the McBee on Instagram.

Beads are absolutely the way to go with the McBee. I kept the stock clip on mine since it has a scallop that fits my finger perfectly when gripping the knife, along with the extra purchase provided by the bead. I handled a clipless McBee recently and didn’t like it since you had to basically grab the lockbar directly, leaving the stock clip on prevents that. Anywho, here’s mine with a few different beads on it. I should really add that I freaking love this knife!!

Sweet pics!
The clip I put on has a scallop also, but in a slightly different position. It feels comfortable where it is. The only downside is that the aftermarket clip had to be modified. I did send MXG gear an email linking them to this thread to see if they would possibly do this modification themselves. Having a universal clip with slotted holes might be a great idea for models that have slightly different screw hole patterns. As far as i know, they haven't used my idea yet...

Wow! For the first time ever I want a beaded lanyard. The McBee is excellent! Unbelievably the UK importer has them on special, and I couldn’t resist.

Sorry again folks, my pics were down again. This time it was completely my fault. I had set up a wordpress blog to host my photos & foolishly I put my page on private, so they became invisible yet again.
Anyway....
Shortly after I purchased my 2 McBee's, I purchased 2 beads to go with them. Not only because I'm an old school Wu-Tang Clan fan, but also because I liked how the beads tied in with the Killer B/ McBee theme.
Image
Image
For those of you that might not understand, this theme is in reference to:
"Wu-Tang Killa Beez".
Anyway, months later, I'm still contemplating if & when I will attach this bead. It's a pretty large titanium bead. It measures 3/4in.tall by 1in.wide by 1/2in.thick & 18grams.
Yeah, the bead is huge compared to the Knife.

It would also be pretty cool to sandblast a honeycomb pattern on both sides of the Ti handle slabs. Too bad this model is so scarce...

I got two WU beads for the two McBee's back in January from InkdropzDesigns on Etsy. They had Titanium, Brass, & Copper. Unfortunately they haven't had any in a long while.
But, if you do a little reasearch, the guy was also on instagram selling those beads & some huge Ti & MokuTi "W" bottle openers.
Look at wordsmyff on instagram (jason grillo). Please, let me know what ends up happening. Good luck.

I did, but I used an extra two-hole clip like the one Spydiegirl is using because it more closely matched the finish of the Mcbee and was more subtle than the one you modified (in my opinion only).

So what exact clip is this? Thanks!
