It's currently nothing more than a piece of a nylon spacer epoxied on there, I didn't want to commit to permanent changes until I was sure it'd work out and safely. It's been a full day and so far it's functioning just fine. The next steps are to find a way to mount an actual metal piece. My current ideas are to tap the lock tab, try to make enough of a counter sink in the tab to fit a screw flush, or bore out the scale a bit so there is room for a screw that is not flush.
My goal is to find a solution to make knives with compression locks that will be difficult for me to close left handed viable. My usual method has been to let the finger choil fall unto my index, then finish closing the knife. Several recent designs that I'm interested in either lack or have very small choil areas on the blade, rendering my method risky.
