Lovely knife.

But the Kapara, with its flatter belly, has pretty much secured my affection in the sleek-and-slender category.

I definitely wouldn't give up my Kapara, but there's plenty of room in my heart for the Ikuchi ;)

I'm gonna be looking for one as soon as it drops. I think I may prefer the Ikuchi over the Kapara.

It's on my maybe list. Gonna have to handle one before I can decide. I like the lines but I'm not sold on the opening method or size. We'll see.

Given I could afford another knife at the moment: Though question. Blade length, weight, edge to closed length ratio, blade thickness (or better thinness) are all very much to my liking. It just somehow does not look enough "spyderco-ish" at first sight. Maybe I'd really like it after some use though.
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

This one just doesn't do it for me. Looks too dainty, thin and not a big fan of the blade shape. Now, after having the Smock...there is no chance of this knife making it to my pocket. The slim profile was appealing...but the Smock, oh baby...the Smock

I'll wait for the opinion of the "beta testers" to see if it's the emperor's new clothes or a really nice one :)

It looks fantastic but goes against everything I like in a knife. Smaller handles just don’t do it for me.

Howdy all,
My production sample just came in, so I guess I’m slightly ahead of the curve. ;)

Hope those folks interested find it as fun to cut AND fidget with as I am... having trouble getting anything else done this evening with the Ikuchi around to play with.

For those looking forward to the retail release, the wait shouldn’t be much longer, now.

Been flipping my "air" Ikuchi for a while now. Can't wait to get the real thing in hand! This will be my first Spyderco for 2019.

Paul,

I love how pointy the tip is on this design! I also like seeing a Spyderco with cutting edge going all the way to the handle.

The handle just has zero ergonomics. Reminds me of pieces of kindling wood I used to start a fire tonight. Not even a choil to nestle a finger into, no "hook" at the back end of the handle to keep your pinky in place. The more I look at it, the less it appeals to me. I'll stop now :o
