I'm kinda surprised at all the comments about it being a Police 4 variant. Do you guys making these comments care nothing about ergonomic differences or is every 4 inch blade knife just another 4 inch blade knife to you? I guess we really didn't need the Police 4 either since we already had the Calypso?

Right on.

Now, how do I get one into Canada when they drop?
On foot?
I don't think I'll do it on foot. Where I'll have to conceal the thing I think even the shortest of walking trips will be unbearably painful.

Any former drug mules here? I need some advice.

We finished the 2nd prototype and Eric is going to refine the design further. Not there yet.

Nice Sal.
Thanks for the information.
:)

I know it's early...but are we expecting a backlock on the Chief?
To me the compression works on the PM2, but something this big, backlock seems ideal.

I am surprised that the StopLock or PowerLock is not planned.
When I handled the Tatanka, it just did not appeal to me for some reason, I forget why.

That mockup looks pretty good. Almost looks like a kitchen knife with the no-hump spine. I'm digging it.

Here's some recent speculation re PowerLock. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=81026
Management has remained mum.

The Native Chief looks good to me. I want one especially in a sprint version.

I'm not letting this thread die. This will instantly be my favorite spyderco when it drops. I guarantee it'll sell out just as fast as recent sprint runs of other models.

I don't think it's worth dying over. ;)

Working on the refinements for the 3rd prototype. We work on roughly 20-30 designs at any given time.

I have to say, this knife sounds like it'll be one of the very few I will buy purely for the design. I like the Native ergonomics but have often wished for a longer, slightly slimmer blade.

I'm sure the first run will be S30V but I wouldn't mind seeing something like K390 or CPM M4.

I really really really really really hope to see the Chief soon. I've passed on the Native 5, despite liking how rugged and utilitarian they look, because they are so small. The handle seems short for my hands. Now the Chief... oh does that look sweet. I'm probably alone on this one, but the original picture posted(with the swedge) is the blade design I would definitely prefer. There's something about the shape and length that lends itself to a swedge, in my opinion. I love ffg, but wish there were more golden models with other options.

This is the only knife I'll sell a kidney for. I'd sell both if I could.

Checking for updates on this model is a big reason why I come to this site.
