Reputable Online Spyderco Dealers

#1

Post by crowofthedead »

I apologize in advance if this has been discussed previously but I did not see a thread on this subject. I recently purchased a Para 2 on eBay that I am currently having doubts about and I don't feel like going through this again. Any recommendations for reputable online knife dealers? Your help is greatly appreciated...

No apologies needed. You might try searching our dealer locator here, https://www.spyderco.com/resources/dealer-locator/. We include websites for each of our authorized dealers (at least for all those that have a site). Everyone on our dealer locator is an authorized dealer for us and would welcome your business.

Thanks much for your continued interest and support!

There are a ton of good online dealers.

I've personally had good experiences with:

Knifeworks.com
Knifecenter.com
BladeHQ.com
NationalKnives.com
DLTTrading.com
CutleryShoppe.com
NewGraham.com

The list goes on...those are just the ones that came off the top of my head. I'm sure others will chime in with a much longer list.

Nah, if you can't find what you're looking for in that list, it probably ain't worth having. Unless it's a dealer exclusive from someone else.

I have bought all my non vintage Spydercos from Whitemountainknives for the past 4 years. Very pleased with them.

All the previous mentioned shops are great, with the exception of knifecenter. They really don’t care about the customer. They’re the only dealer I’ve ever had multiple problems with. Spyderco themselves had to step in each time to make things right. Dlt is currently my dealer of choice.

DLT Trading is legit, their shipping is insanely fast. They also have a loyalty program (dangerous).

Knifeworks is legit, they're very nice on the phone (they called me because I made a large first-time purchase from them and wanted to make sure I'm not a Nigerian prince).

Blade HQ is legit, they put out their series of "Knife Banter" videos (their hype man, Ben, can be annoying, but there's usually good material out there).

Those are the 3 I most recently worked with.

^^ My first choice for offerings on eBay.

Outside of eBay, DLTrading has proven to perform best for me.

+1 for DLT! I had nothing but good experiences with them. I remember one night (I live overseas) where Jason took one Bark River Bravo with burl handles after the other out of those white boxes, making pics from both sides and mailing them to me so I could pick the one I liked the most!
Boy, we had fun and I ended up with a beauty. It was sheer madness!

This is who I had a watched eBay auction from...when I decided to buy it I followed the "recently viewed" link instead of my watched one and it wound up being a different seller (which I noticed after the fact)...still hoping it is 100% above board...I posted pics in counterfeit subforum...

Welcome to the Forum!!! :)

I'll add one knife shop not yet mentioned... Country Knives...

https://www.countryknives.com

They carry a wide variety of Spyderco products to include a few older knife models. They were recommended by a long-time member of the Spyderco Forum, they are good people to work with, they are very reliable, and I've shopped online with them for years. They have a brick and mortar store in Pennsylvania as well as sell online. I like these people. :)

Recommend you check them out. Hope this helps.

+1 GPKNIVES
I've probably purchased 80% of my collection from them. They have always been a stand-up company. I live in Texas and I go to Illinois about 2 or 3 times to actually spend time in the shop. I"ve been shopping with Mike and the gang for 20 years( long before they were on the internet) and their customer service has always been TOP NOTCH!

Wow, I've been looking to start a similar thread, thank you :D

My question, following the one of the OP would be - how many, if any of the dealers are present on this forum?

I see a lot of people discussing about specials from this and that dealer/distributor, but wouldn't it be great if they were on the forum themselves, so they could feel the pulse of the most loyal customers, and decide on their next specials from the info gathered here.

Just my 2 cents.
