Not sure if I’ll tweak it a bit yet, gonna use it like this for a bit first.

^^ I like 12:06pm. Reminds me of my old Benchmade 720 Perdue.

How'd I miss this? Looks great. I really like the blade shape. Very useful. The traditional is a beauty too. Thanks for sharing.

By the way, what is the traditional? I can't make out the lettering. I want one.

That one is a GEC #74, “heartland clip” sfo for apostlep. You’ll likely only find them on the secondary. Unless of course you want a stainless drop point version in chestnut, in that case get over to TSA knives quick.

Thanks. Sorry, but what is sfo?

Special factory order. Same thing as an exclusive. The one I’ve got was for a YouTube reviewer, he had ebony and a jigged bone done. They made some others at the same time but you’d have to check GEC’s site. Unfortunately they sell out fast and are hard to come by. They get back around to popular patterns but it can take a couple years. Sometimes shops get ahold of some after the fact from GEC or private collections. I’ve also got a Northwoods Esky Zulu in denim on the same frame. Imo, the 74’s and the 15’s are their best done knives. (Not a knock on the rest of their stuff but those two patterns are just dialed in right in every way).

Thnx, I did tweak it a little from the first pics I posted. Think I’m happy with it now. I really like clip points too, they just have a look to them.
I’d grab that 74 from TSA myself but too hard to justify a third knife on the same frame after picking up the Amalgam and still waiting on the Smock. And on top of that, GEC’s got a new pattern , (#29) later this year that looks interesting ...

I very much like the Stretch I, and drop point UKPK. I carry a Delica a lot, so....

Image

As you can see, I "Stretched" the blade. I've also smoothed out the two "horns" on the finger portion of the grip a little.

Been carrying and using it for a few days now, and I gotta say - I prefer it over my non-modded Delicas, and will likely do this to my other ones.

Thank you Jazz, and Dodge. Very much appreciated!

I like it A Lot too! A few more days into it and I still find myself very much preferring it, over my non-modded Delicas.
It just feels, and works "better" - at everything - so far, plus, I love the looks of it too.

How I did it was: Put my UKPK drop point over the top of this delica, lined up the thumb holes, and traced the shape with a sharpie. Took it out to the 'ole 1"x30: HF belt sander with a pickle jar of ice water and removed the metal, plus dropped the tip just a bit to make it nice and pointy. Sanded the spine smooth by hand, and "broke" (every so slightly rounded & deburred) the spine edges with a spyderco grey pocket stone, after sanding, so it's super comfy on your finger or thumb - both of which can and do, easily and happily, find their way into that "swoop".

Here's another photo, this one without the dust/gunk on the blade near the handle. Also, the Spyder a little more faded as I've been slowly thinning the blade and bte, day by day for a few days now. It started off un-modded at 0.025 of an inch bte, and I've got it at 0.019". I may go to 0.018. I'm going to use it a few days and see how it does first.

Image

ETA: the thinning of the blade/BTE thickness I've been doing, has all been done with stones, in hand. No belt sander for that - at least not for me.

That blade thinning sounds like a bit of work. I did it to a wee Roadie, and it took a while.
