Manix 2 Salt?

#1

Post by Catamount123 »

This model seems like a great candidate for the Salt trearment. FFG LC200N, of course.
I don't get people who only carry one knife :thinking ;)

Lots of requests out there for a LW version, myself included. Given the new Native, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be imminent.

The Manix 2 in a salt version is a very hoped for knife. It makes sense that it would be a lightweight FRCP back lock version (and I hope so).

Probably wouldn’t work with the coil spring in the lock.

My thoughts exactly. There's already the Caribbean, isn't that close enough? (Honest question not trying to prove a point against the Manix)

How is the Manix back lock different than the Native?

I consider the ergos completely different between the Caribbean and the Manix, different enough to warrant a Manix Salt.

I support a manix 2 lw salt.
Now that we kniw lc200n is fabulous, I support every main model getting a salt treatment.

You didn’t say back lock, bro. That would work great, except all the retooling and expense of FRN molds. Would be a nice knife though.

I thought it was assumed I meant backlock. ;)
Even if it really worked to do a salt cbbl, I'm much more interested in a manix lw backlock salt.

Salt water resistant coil spring materials are available.

I would really like a Salt Manix LW!!!

Edited to add that I want a CBBL Manix Salt, NOT just another Salt backlock that happens to be Manix-shaped and USA made.

the tusk has a bbl with a spring. i'd love to see a manix 2 salt. i'm not sure it's realistic, but it would be a necessary knife for me. the manix is by far my favorite spyderco. it's an ergonomic marvel and i'd love it in lc200n.
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.

A manix LW salt would be the perfect winter hike folder.

Yep, I agree that this is inevitable (how could it not be?) with the success of the Native Salt. Hopefully they drop some blacked out versions at the same time as the yellow. If this were to be confirmed it would be my current most anticipated model.

If they could do the cbbl i’d be happy, but would prefer the back lock. This is a knife that needs to be.

I would love a Manix LW Salt. Backlocks are easy to flush sand out of in my experience, so a backlock would be preferable. I would also endorse a regular hourglass clip over the current wire clip on the Manix LW; I find the standard hourglass clip to have better flex and retention in weird fabrics like board shorts, PFDs, hiking pants, etc.

At this point we're getting to a very different Manix, so maybe just a new model entirely, but something similar in ergos to the Manix/Native. Honestly, wouldn't be bummed if the Endura or Stretch got the LC200N treatment either (altho I'm not sure the complexity/cost of getting LC200N into a Seki knife).

I would have to pull the trigger on one of these as well. Especially if it was in black as opposed to the bright yellow. I'm loving my native salt but had to do a scale swap with my s30v because the yellow is just too loud for edc for me. I wish they would make all the salts in black frn/trcp. It couildn't cost hardly anymore since they already make those handles for the non salt versions.

Flat Dark Earth, Earth Brown, Dark Olive Drab, those colors would get my vote.
