Coyote Urban update?

#1

Post by Doc Dan »

Is there any word on the Coyote Urban 13C26? Will we see it before Spring?

Yes, same thing, different maker.

Is there any word? I love the Urban LW and really want to get one of these in my pocket.

I'm definitely into this one. When I bought the last Urban sprint (for the steel) I was honestly shocked by how much I liked the design. When I lost one (to a security check at a tourist attraction) I was literally on my phone in the line buying a replacement on eBay.

Will be buying.
This will probably fill my self-imposed limit of one sprint this year. Unless a REX native comes out.

Great news. Was there a decision made about the possibility of a drop point version? Any pics of the CB prototype?

It is the same, but just different companies, as I understand it. This steel is also made by a few other companies. I misspoke when I said 13C26 as that is the Sandvik version and this knife is coming out of Maniago so it would be Bohler's AEB-L. Certainly no super steel, but a very fine steel in any case; perfect for a pocket knife. I can't wait to see how Spyderco's treatment of this steel is. I have used it from other makers, but I assume Spyderco will run it harder.

We had to purchase the steel and ship it to ManIago.

I might buy one of these just to see how Spydercos AEB-L performs. I also want to support this steel being used in the future.

Thanks for the reply Sal. Will the CB be the same colour as on the Brown FRN Delica and Endura?

Happy New Year by the way...

I hope it is out by the summer. This is going to be a great pocket companion. The coyote brown color will just be icing on the cake.

I loved the k390 urban and wanted one in an easier to sharpen steel. I will 100% be buying one of these once it comes out.

Are 13C26 and AEB-L both PM process?

Steels with identical composition can behave differently depending on the process, in my experience. Like ingot D2 v. PSF27 v. CPM D2.
