Re: Spyderco used by Navy SEAL and British SAS
Theirs a name I haven't heard for a while.
Have watched a few of his videos.
The reason I use an Endura SE was because of an SAS WO who said get one for roping etc.
In regards to your question, a lot of it seems down to personal choice - and how much individual kit set up autonomy individuals have in a unit.

I'll ask a mate who was in the other US Tier 1 force what he used and if many carried Spydies. He was also in one of the Ranger units, I think 75th (the one that parachuted into Point Salines).

The Navy Seals I personally know are fond of the Automatic Microtech knives. The ones that pop out of the handle and then pop back in. I showed one of them my Spyderco Paramilitary 2 and he said oh yeah take a look at this. Yes I do know actual real life seals not wanna be pretenders.

I’m fairly sure a NATO Stock Number (NSN) exist for a Spyderco Recue Knife.

Not sure but I always liked the Lone Wolf Endura for the Glock tool. I wish they'd put one on a Military.

Yep. It's even waved. It's almost enough to get me to buy an Endura.

Re: Spyderco used by Navy SEAL and British SAS
The original Benchmade AFCK (with licensed Spyder Hole) was co-designed by former SEAL Team 6 member Chris Caracci. Chris was my first SWAT instructor when I went through the Fort Lauderdale P.D.'s SWAT school back in the late 80's. I didn't realize until I already owned the knife Chris' involvement with its design.
I also trained with the SAS briefly when they came stateside to work with our team and compare techniques. But I don't recall any particular knives they carried at the time.

I have one of those AFCK’s. My second “tactical” knife, got it in... ‘95 I think? My first was a Gen 1 Endura.
Re: Spyderco used by Navy SEAL and British SAS
I have a friend who gets issued Pacific Salts at work (one of the VA Beach teams). He seems to think they are called "H-1's" though, because that's what it says on the blade.
Re: Spyderco used by Navy SEAL and British SAS
A lot of Enduras and Pacific Salts go to the Military.

Do many get Serrated edges ?
Or mostly plain edge ?
If I was in the same position now as I was 30 years ago I'd get Pacific Salt Serrated.

If you like the D4 you will love the E4.It's amazigly light for such a large blade, same great ergos as the D4,wears very thin in the pocket. You will end up buying at least 2.kernelpanic wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 1:51 amI’m adding an Endura to my Christmas list as I’m keen to try one out and see how they compare to a Delica.
If it’s performance is similar to the Delica I can see why it would be popular with military.
If any friends ever ask me to recommend a pocket knife in the U.K. for camping or outdoors activities the one knife I feel confident in recommending is the Delica, never regretted recommending that knife.
When my kids are older I will be upgrading them from their SAK to a Delica.
