New here, just saying hi!!

#1

Post by cbrstar »

Hi everyone!

My name is Randy, and I live way up north in Canada.

For most of my life I wasn't really a knife guy, but that changed a couple of years ago when a co-worker was showing me his assisted opening knife. I just had to have one because of the novelty of it.

I feel like my knife collecting has taken a huge leap forward with the recent purchases of a few Spyderco's. I bought a PM2, Pm3, Blurple Military, and the Carbon/Titanium Military. I feel like all the other knives I bought in the past were a huge waste, and I wish I had known how amazing and awesome Spyderco's were years ago.

I wish to keep collecting Spyderco's, and i'm here so I can learn all I can so I make the right choices in the future.

New person! Hello! You got a nice start to a Spydie collection there, the whole military "family", one of each size for every situation :) Which knives are you looking at getting next?

I have a tenacious coming in the mail, so hopefully it will make over the boarder OK. I would like to finally get a Endura or Delica, but there's so many great models out there like a Native 5. So I'm going try to be open to what comes my way.

This is the best forum on the internet. This is the only knife forum I am registered to. However, I’ve dabbled in so many hobbies from R/C cars, to building and overclocking computers since I was 12 years old. Numerous Gun forums and such too, also motorcycles and cars. Spyderco is by far the best in a forum board by a long shot.

Welcome to the forum Randy! That is very cool about living in north Canada. Do you ever see polar bears and those sorts of creatures?

Have you looked at the Spyderco main web page and the product guide and seen some of the assorted knives? What do you think of the Endura?

Sadly I've only ever seen a Polar Bear at the Zoo. I have seen quite a few black bears and a Grizzly in the wild though.

It's weird I originally went to the store to buy an Endura, and ended up buying a PM2. Then I went back a week later to again buy a Endura, and left with a PM3 lol! I guess 3rd times the charm? My local store still has a Toku version that I've been thinking about.

Welcome from Michigan! I’m a new guy here too. Seems to be a lot of knowledgeable and friendly folks here. I’m learning a lot, especially about knives I don’t need but now want...

Welcome, Randy. Where in Canada are you? I’m from Lethbridge. Also, have you tried BladesCanada? They have a lot of good stuff.

Hi Jazz I live in Wetaskiwin, which is pretty close to Edmonton. I've seen blades Canada but I haven't ordered from them yet, but I did use them to price match my PM2 at my local knife store.
