We always appreciate the "heads-up", but we don't always know the answers. We'll have to do some work.

It's less about looking for fakes, but when you see a suspiciously cheap pm2 or something and you look at the auction, something feels off - it's a fake

Dear Aunt Maggie,
Thank you so much for the embroidered armrest covers, they fit my sofa perfectly. You must have worked on these for weeks. I will always cherish them.

Ever since all this happened, I have been ill at ease, but now this thread has laid it all to rest. I will be able to get a good nights sleep at last.

Re: ..............
Exactly. I'd bet 10 bucks that someone on the inside grabbed them and sold them to the pawnshop down the road. If that's the case this is an easy one to solve.

I think it's a social experiment, see how long a thread about nothing can keep going. I think a theme song will help...

Re: ..............
Have no idea if they are real, or how the seller(s) acquired them if they are, but it didn't take much digging to turn up 4 completed eBay auctions for "Production Sample" Spyderco Respect Bowies. 3 of the 4 were listed at various times in October by a pawnshop in Colorado, the 4th was listed in November by someone in PA, and may simply be one of the 3 from CO being re-listed by whoever won one of the October auctions.

That's right, a theme for everything! I'm looking for a polywog, someone wants to get rid of yours? I promise to give you a good home Thanks and best regards!
Re: ..............
I’ve bought from this seller before. Twice. First was a shaman for $90 the same week they released last year. And the other was a Maxamet native for $85 around the same time.

The million dollar question is......WHO brought them into the pawnshop in the first place? The Deacon wrote: ↑Sun Nov 11, 2018 8:14 amHave no idea if they are real, or how the seller(s) acquired them if they are, but it didn't take much digging to turn up 4 completed eBay auctions for "Production Sample" Spyderco Respect Bowies. 3 of the 4 were listed at various times in October by a pawnshop in Colorado, the 4th was listed in November by someone in PA, and may simply be one of the 3 from CO being re-listed by whoever won one of the October auctions.

I'd be more inclined to phrase that question as "how did the pawnshop acquire them in the first place?".
Still, not sure if that, or "are they real" is the bigger question. Catalog shows a handle with no visible hardware, auction knives have 4 very visible fasteners. Prices they fetched seem low, even without a box or sheath, for a knife that will have a $560 MSRP and $364 street price. No obvious sign of a "seconds notch" and they were originally listed before the Spyderco factory sale, so I doubt they're seconds. Buyers either got remarkable bargains or the got burnt.
