I'm in the US Air Force, and when I was using my digital camo PM2 the other day, it occurred to me that the camouflage pattern used in the Spyderco Military/PM2/P3 series of knives is outdated now. For those who might not know, this pattern is very similar to the one that the US Army used to use. As a fan, I would love to see Spyderco offer the Military series of knives in a new pattern. As a military member, I prefer to carry gear that is coordinated.
I'm interested in hearing what others think. Would you like to see Spyderco offer a new camo pattern for the Military/PM2/P3 series of knives? If so, what patterns do you like? Another option would be to phase out the digital camo and make the OD Green used in the new limited edition PM2 a standard offering for the entire Military series. And then there's Coyote Brown...I love Coyote Brown.
Again, I'm just curious to hear what others think.
Picture: The PM2 in this picture features a digital camouflage pattern very similar to the one that the US Army used to use. It was phased out several years ago. The backpack in the background is MultiCam. Many armed forces currently use a "MultiCam type" pattern. MultiCam is copyrighted, so using it would probably drive cost up. Perhaps Spyderco could create its own "MultiCam type" pattern to avoid this.
