I'm on A.G's email and mailing list. They have some neat products. He loved what he was doing while alive, so my hat is off to him.

I always enjoyed getting his catalog back in the day. And I think my first one-hand opening knife was from that catalog! He made a mark, for sure.

You don't have to hear many personal stories in the knife biz before that name starts coming up over and over. Truly a pillar of the community.

Thank you Sal, for letting us know.
A sad day, to be sure. A giant in the industry, and a fantastic human being.

Russell’s obituary says up until October 10, he was still working at his office designing knives and talking with customers.

“Saturdays were especially important to him. He would spend most of his hours that the store was open on that day, talking to customers. He especially enjoyed the little ones.”

On October 12, 2018, A.G. Russell III exchanged his earthly life for eternal peace with his Lord Jesus Christ.

During what was supposed to be a routine angiogram to check for blockage in a coronary artery, A G. Russell’s heart gave out and he left this world.

While his physical presence will no longer be here, the force that was A.G. Russell will always be with us, the A.G. Russell Knives staff members, friends and the knife community around the world.

Visitation and funeral service information is available at http://www.westfieldchapel.com/…/Russel ... etails.php This site will be updated as more information is available.

sorry for your loss, sal and others. although i didn't know him personally, he is responsible for my first fixed blade and bowie knife. my dad gave me the knife, so i have always and will always cherish it. i'm glad i could be a part of the story of such a prolific figure in the knife community.

I never met him personally but I e-mailed him two occasions about obscure makes of knives and he always got back to me. I always enjoyed visiting the A. G. Russell booth at the BLADE Show and other knife shows. I never ever heard one negative word about A. G. Russell. R. I. P.
