Byrd Colors, thank you Eric, Susan & Kelly!

So thrilled to see the FRN Byrds getting some color variety in the mid year product guide, thank you Sal [edit: thank you Eric, Susan & Kelly]! These are great blades and thoroughly deserving of the attention!

I'm thinking a grey Meadowlark and a brown Cara Cara :)

On a Chinese made 8Cr13MoV related note, the new Bow River fixed blade looks absolutely fantastic. I feel a review coming on! I just have to find a way to convince the wife of how essential a new fixed blade purchase is first!

Yeah a Bow River has to happen for me. I'm thinking a brown Cara Cara as it'll remind me of the brown Calypso sprint I sold :(

Red robin seems appropriate...

Really happy to see these! I'd love to see even more variety in the future and a (hopeful!) change to BD1 steel. Can't wait for the meadowlark/robin.

Just picked these two up -

I love the colors, and the lockup and finish on both is great. It's the same awesome Meadowlark 2.

I did notice that on both of these the choil guard was a good 1 or 2mm longer than my black FRN version meaning that the tip of the blade on these sat almost exposed out of the handle scales when closed (enough to catch my thumb pad).

Ten minutes with a diamond file soon fixed that (red line shows original length of choil guard) -

Now both tips ride nice and deep in those awesome colored scales -

All I have to say is I hope these sell well as I'd quite like them in green, orange and khaki too! Speaking of khaki, I'm still dreaming about my photoshopped khaki wharncliffe Meadowlark happening :D -

That wharncliffe should be easy to come. It’s basically just straighten the hawkbill blade edge ;).

Thanx much for the "Thank you", but if the truth be known, it was not my idea or decision to make colored byrds. It was Eric, Susan and Kelly that came up with it and made it happen.

I kind of want to buy a gray Cara Cara 2 now and swap its scales onto the Cara Cara Rescue I own. Gray looks so nice on knives.

Thank you very much to Eric and Susan and Kelly for producing such awesomeness!
