Exclusive Delica - Carbon Fiber with HAP40/SUS410
Exclusive Delica - Carbon Fiber with HAP40/SUS410
Thought this deserved its own thread.
Fradon Lock Exclusive C11FPCFW - Delica 4
$169.95
Specially manufactured for the Fradon Lock Company (www.fradonlock.com), this limited-edition Exclusive version of the Spyderco Delica® 4 features a three-layer laminate blade comprised of a HAP40 core and SUS410 outer layers. HAP40 is a high-speed tool steel produced by the powder metallurgy process—an advanced manufacturing method that reduces alloy migration to yield an extremely fine and uniform carbide structure. Generous amounts of tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, and cobalt in HAP40's alloy mix give it exceptional toughness and high abrasion resistance—key qualities of a superior blade steel. The blade's high-performance HAP40 core is supported by layers of SUS410 martensitic stainless steel, which increase its structural strength and reduce its vulnerability to corrosion. The boundary between these layers is clearly visible just above the cutting edge and is highlighted by the blade’s full-flat grind.
The other remarkable feature of this Delica 4 Exclusive is its handle, which is constructed with full skeletonized stainless steel liners and carbon fiber scales. The smooth finish of the scales reveals the stunning pattern of the solid carbon fiber and is complemented by the expertly blended finish of the handle's perimeter. All other features of this knife are consistent with the best-selling standard version of the Delica 4, including a sturdy back lock mechanism and a polished four-position pocket clip.

Oooh, nice!!! I like this one a lot!
This would make a killer blade swap with the St. Nicks Exclusive DLC HAP40 blade.

No thank you,,, cost of $170 is a $90 upcharge for CF scales,, way over the top.
Forgot to drill for lanyard hole in the scales.
If the price was reasonable, I would jump on it.

Re: Exclusive Delica - Carbon Fiber with HAP40/SUS410
Cue the standard pricing outrage. I think some people fail to realize that a G10/CF Delica is NOT just those scales slapped onto the guts of a FRN version. Maybe it’s not worth it to you but you have no actual info on which to judge what’s “reasonable.” The only thing unreasonable is the ill-informed indignation.
For me, I’ll consider it, but I prefer stainless and the FRN model is hard to beat.

Very nice. AGREED about the DLC scale swap :)
The Paakawood at $131.97 is starting to look like it was a price mistake.

I'd love to see a back spine shot of this especially if it's like the pakkawood. Looks to be priced between the ti/Damascus and Pakkawood...

Re: Exclusive Delica - Carbon Fiber with HAP40/SUS410
I checked my spreadsheet and that's exactly what I paid. Which was a deal IMO. Especially considering that I paid only $2 less for my HAP40 Dragonfly.abbazaba wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 1:17 pmLast year it was $131.97 when they dropped.Xander3Zero wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 1:15 pmI'm assuming your referring to the KC exclusive?
