I probably won't be buying any more knives until the holidays/my birthday (Spyderco has been making so much good stuff my knife budget is gone :o ) But I like this one a lot.
If the grind stays true to the original M2 geometry, it'll be thicker behind the edge than current FFG blades. I've done some serious work with my S30V sabre grind M2, So a steel like 4V ought to be rock solid ground that way... I'm still on the fence with this one though, so many great knives dropped already this year that my budget is empty and my knife drawer is full, it would have instantly sucked me in as an FFG blade, but it's only a strong maybe in sabre.

David is right, I think the Manix 2 thickness and the steel itself will make this grind more than adequate for work related tasks.
The greatest fear seems to be that the edge will chip, as hollow grinds are prone to do... but to my understanding it is also easier to sharpen.
So along as you're not using your knife as a blunt instrument, I think you'll be fine.

Also, does anyone know if the liners will be skeletonized in this model?
I have the burled g10 Manix and love it, people were tripping that the liners were solid and it would be "heavy".
It felt just right to me, love the M2.

This knife ticks a lot of boxes for me. I even dig that they did the hollow grind on it. Marbled CF too... drool. I had the cruwear/CF Manix in the past and with the stiffness of the CBBL it felt like it would slip out of my hand when trying to one handed close it. Would probably prefer the back lock for this reason. May have to be a pass for me too... gotta think on it.

Isn't one of the commercial uses for Vanadis/4V wood chipper blades? I'm assuming that the blades in a chipper would have a different HT than a pocket knife, but if it can take a high-impact task like chipping, then it ought to shrug off normal cutting tasks even with a higher hardness HT.

How many people concerned about chipping a steel like 4V chipped the hollow ground 154CM Manix 2's?
Re: Manix2 4v marbled carbon fiber exclusive
Looks like an interesting knife.
Should perform well as a folder, don't foresee any issues with this.
There is nothing wrong with a hollow ground blade, behind the edge thickness will be the same or close enough to the same as an FFG blade so nothing is lost there.
Should be nice for people who want a 4V folder.
Shouldn't be any sort of stability issues due to the steel being 4V.
One of my primary EDC's is a LG Chris Reeve Inkosi (Hollow Ground) and S35VN, has a deeper hollow grind than the Sebenza 25 had. Sold my Sebenza 25 awhile back and replaced it with this one.

I’m liking just about everything about this knife.
It is nice to see a run using the hollow grind again.
I do have a 154cm M2 with a hollow grind but I got it right around the time the lightweight s110v version came out and it really never got much use.
I’m hoping these don’t sell out too quickly as I just got the Para 3 sprint today and I would like to spread out my knife purchases a little bit.

About the possibility of this knife having skeletonized liners.

I just checked their site. They’ll be around a while at $230, ouch.
Lowered to $209.95...maybe they've been reading the comments. Dang them...I'm trying not to buy this one..

Re: Manix2 4v marbled carbon fiber exclusive
Dang. They dropped the price? Figures with my luck. I had decided to pass this one and get the st nicks para and the dlt pm2. I hope that they stay in stock for a month or so. That way I can rebuild my knife fund, which I completely drained this past week

Honestly, if they're in stock in a month I may pick one up, even though the lock and grind aren't my favorite. Those scales are tasty!

I watched their little video of the knife, and it appears to have skeletonized liners. I believe that’s a first with a hollow ground blade.
