I’m disproportionately excited about this knive.
Honestly It may get me down to just one knife as now my blade lives in my pack.
Mmm should I sell my native...
If I did I would have 0 black handled spyderco.

If you haven't done a scale swap on the Para 3 before... Be a bit careful with the lanyard tube when you're removing the scales so you don't damage the G10 rendering it useless. :)

Re: Oooo boy am I excited!
I disassembled my s110v Para 3 to clean it for the first time the other day. I was completely expecting to just fan the scales and liners out to get the blade out and whatnot. To my surprise the lanyard tube popped right out. It wasn't loose and it fit perfectly when I reassembled it. I bought the knife directly from River's Edge Cutlery and it had no signs of a prior disassembly (no chips on the scales, no scratches, thread locker on the screws). I'm not sure why it came apart so easily but I'm not complaining.

Yeah, I don’t find pulling these things apart challenging like some however I’ve been a tinkerer for ever
Re: Oooo boy am I excited!
There are few things that thrill me as much as getting new Supersteel Spyder to add to my arsenal. I remember when I got my very first Carbon Fiber Spyder all the way back in 04. It was also a super thrill when I snagged two Titanium handled Peter Herbst Spyderco models within two days apart.
And what a super thrill it was when my dear Spyder-Brethren presented me with one of those Nuclear Orange Spyderhawks right when I was laid up from my recent surgery. You have to be a devout Spyder-head to understand what motivates most of us here at the Forum. And I don't expect many to understand it
I'm with you Brother>> it truly is a much different form of excitement than most people even realize  :spyder:

Yep. We’re all a bunch of weirdos to the “regular” world. :D

Know what, the raw g10 works :)
I’m gonna sell my S35vn native and my other para3 when it arrives as this and my Chappy will do me.
For now
Re: Oooo boy am I excited!
I love my M4 p3!! Definitely my current favorite. Sharpens easily enough on a sharpmaker, finished in a strop. I did replace the oem scales with a set of black g10 takeoffs. I like it much better now.

Re: Oooo boy am I excited!
I snagged a DLT Para 3 M4 with the natural G10. Awesome knife, but... I went to disassemble it to clean and lube, polish the pivot washers, etc., but the lanyard tube was not cooperative. I happen to like the natural scales and wasn’t planning on replacing them so they didn’t really need to come off. After lubing and twisting and prying for a bit, I decided it wasn’t worth the potential of damaging them and did what I needed to do by spinning one of the scales out of the way. And even that wasn’t easy. The scales are surprisingly tight on the tube. As others have mentioned, use caution.
You’re going to love that thing. It’s an awesome knive.

Re: Oooo boy am I excited!
I tell ya fellas (and ladies too) this knife is the cats pajamas-
I’ve tried a spyderco or two in my time and for me the para 3 is the best of the bunch (that I have played with)
I think it’s one flaw is that the pocket clip dosnt land in the most comfortable spot but on this knife the wire clip would be substantially worse

Re: Oooo boy am I excited!
I like the MXG clips. They've got 2 versions of their shortclip now. One that covers the lanyard hole and one that doesnt. I like the one that covers the hole myself.
