Here are some better pics for you Jazz. It's not a slicer like most of the Caly family, instead its more like the lovechild of a Caly 3 with a Schempp Tuff. I do plan to try a FFG next and depending on the performance, possibly trying a high hollow as the final step. For now the thicker grind adds mass and makes the balance very neutral. I plan to have more custom blade swaps done in the coming months.

Thanks a lot, and I'd love to see any other swaps you do. How do you like that steel?

I like it alot! Only have used it previously on Strider SNG with hollow grind but I found it to be very tough, even at 12dps with edge retention that meets or exceeds my uses. Sharpening feel and response is about the same as Spyderco's CPM Cruwear using Spyderco benchstones for reprofile and 701s for weekly touchupsJazz wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 9:17 amxceptnl wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 8:42 am

New here! Two days ago I got my first spyderco. I got it on another forum for a song because the tip was damaged. Otherwise the knife was like new. I bought it knowing I was going to modify the tip and make it my edc. Two days ago it looked like this.
Today it looks like this. I love it. Picked up the scales for cheap from the guy who tanto’d the tip
