Navy Blue FRN sounds good! And a TiCN option would be great as well. Would look nice against the Navy.

Steels...ah... ;)

1) YSS Hap 5R (unclad)
2) SRS15 (unclad)
3) Hap40 (unclad)
4) K390 (unclad)

No decisions have been made as the FRN tooling is still being made. But my leanings are much like what's been mentioned. The edge junky's like Darby will want K390 & ZDP (as will I). The market will want VG-10 (reliable and affordable) H1 & LC are always a possibility. We'll watch and see what others like.

Now that I think about it, that might make you not want to make it... :D

A FRN Police Salt in H1 SE would be pretty similar to the Pacific Salt XL that I and others have been suggesting. Hard to say no to a huge chunk of serrated H1 that will stay sharp forever and never rust!

When the tooling is finished, we'll consider options and variations.

Yes, White FRN and TiCN coated blade and hardware would be awesome! Wish we could see this combo in a lot of models!

Probably wasting my time, but I will say yet again I would love to see a pakkawood version of the Police.

Hi Superposition,

Welcome to our forum.

One of our dealers has been making Pakkawood exclusives. They might pick this up?

Of course, I am going to want K390. However, a stainless choice of steel would be just fine with me. If stainless, how about XHP? Don't you think this steel has good qualities for a longer folder like the P4?

This is probably way way off and maybe never to happen anyway but if you make Police 4 Salt with SE/H1 I'm in.

Ok Sal, I have a dumb noob question for you: if I held a FRN Police 4 prototype at the OKCA show, where did the tooling for that come from? I only ask because you mentioned the tooling is still being finalized, and the one I held (albeit briefly) seemed spot on. As I said, a totally noob question...

And I’m one of those much in favor of a ZDP version! :D

Cheers, Radioactive :)

though I'd much prefer a LC200N or H1 Police (my favorite Spyderco steels) I wouldn't say no to this one in CTS-XHP :p

I am sure it makes an excellent steel for long blades, as I have a few XL Cold Steel folders (5 inch and 6 inch blades) in it, and I've seen the testing on those too, and it holds up fine to use, cutting, chopping, and even mild abuse (prying, twisting, batoning)

I love the wicked edge it takes
