Re: Knives going out of stock in Canada?
a customs officer can check on line at Blades Canada to see what any knife is listed/described as there in just a minute or two if they want to.

It appears to me that Canada is running out of stock in both Freedom and common sense. Sorely disappointed

Yes indeed I totally agreed. It seems that the freedom's which were bought with blood less than a lifetime ago are to be given over for the sake of not feeling the shame implied by the PC left. The very system our father's and grandfather's defeated in the Second WW in Korea and in Vietnam are eroding our society right now and their weapons today are little more than mock shame and guilt. This needs to be stood up against and stopped. We need to make the West great again.MichaelScott wrote: ↑Sat Jul 28, 2018 7:24 amIt appears to me that Canada is running out of stock in both Freedom and common sense. Sorely disappointed

Re: Knives going out of stock in Canada?
I have had no issues as an individual getting knives across the boarder.
They were clearly marked as knives with the proper values declared. One was a headesigns poison which can only be opened via a very prominent Flipper. I feel that we may be at the mercy of the agent who inspects the package.
The main issue is finding people or businesses willing to ship to Canada. Many are not willing to risk a seizures of items.
Taking to local knife shops they have not had any shipments blocked or seized. But many companies (Kershaw / CRKT) simply won't ship to Canada anymore.

I do not believe that this has anything to do with individual boarder agents rather this is a purely political and intentional program being enacted by our government. Companies like Blades Canada can no longer bring in Spyderco for example but other similar knives from China and elsewhere come in every day. It is time to wake up and see what is happening. The socialistic government in Canada has a plan and this is just one small part of it.

Elections have consequences. So does government tyranny. Their agenda is relentless, and in general they’re very good at pacing the seizure of power. Make no mistake, we are frogs in the pot, and the heat’s been steadily rising. They make the most gains as each generation comes into voting age, and as the older generation dies. America’s pioneer spirit is on life support. Canada’s only slightly worse off than are we.
The problem with elections is we’re voting for party pawns or idealists who will either be quickly corrupted or drummed out in short order. And the reality is they're all part of the uniparty.
Keep your powder dry.

Re: Knives going out of stock in Canada?
From what I’ve seen things are as bad as they were. Warriors and wonders rolls the dice every time they order. Either it gets through or it doesn’t. There’s no rhyme or reason to what makes it across. That’s a tough way to do business.
I’ve spoken to other shops around here and they’re having the same issues.
As far as individuals ordering it’s the same thing. There are those that have some stuff get through and not others. There are people who have had everything get through, so they claim there are no issues but clearly this is not the case.
Perhaps all of this will go away like it has in the past, I don’t know. After the shooting in Toronto it would seem that the politicians have their eyes on banning guns at the moment.

Good time to BUY. I picked up around 100 awesome Canadian knives built by Canadian craftsmen. Sad to say they are all closing down now.
Can you find it and can it cut?

Why would Canadian makers be closing down? These knives are legal to make sell buy carry and export. I don't understand. At the current rate Canadian built folding knives will become our only option(s) here in Canada. I would be interested in the designers names so I can check out some home grown designs if you don't mind sharing.

Re: Knives going out of stock in Canada?
This is ridiculous. They can get drugs and who knows what across the border but law abiding citizens wanting knives are getting screwed?
I am glad I don't live in Canada (though I live in New Jersey which is almost as bad lol) but for those who are, please don't give up, this crap should be stopped. Not sure how though, as unelected officials are alike in every nation inasmuch as they are less accountable to the public and often seem to think highly of themselves.

Re: Knives going out of stock in Canada?
Canada is definitely a beautiful country. I've heard the people are great too. But things like their current knife laws seem horrible to those of us that don't live there.
To be fair, I wouldn't want to live in New Jersey either. When I think of New Jersey, I think of car thieves and obnoxious, spray tanned people that party too much. Even though I'm sure the majority of the state is pretty nice.

My dad and his parents are from NJ. Now that all 3 are gone from this world, I have no reason to ever go back. NJ’s constitutional infringements have seen to that. Canada’s gun laws are probably only a little worse than NJ, but the land/scenery is gorgeous.

I'm disappointed too. I probably have enough knives that I don't "need" more, but it's really frustrating knowing i can't order new Spyderco or even custom knives from the US anymore.

Re: Knives going out of stock in Canada?
I knew a Canadian once in college. We called him the Wretched Canadian, because he'd get drunk off of Moulson and pass out in our dorm room bathroom. Often. He got drunk and went swimming once, at night, by himself, lost his bearings and woke up with a hangover on a 2 acre island in the middle of the lake. He was rescued by a passerby with a jet ski. The next night he convinced himself that he left his wallet on the island, so he swam back, in the dark, drunk, by himself, with his cellphone in his pocket so that he could call us if he got stranded again. The cellphone wasn't water resistant. He got one heck of a sunburn before he got the courage to rescue himself by swimming back, because he was sober.
I like Canadians.
It would be a shame if people like the Wretched Canadian were denied access to whatever knife they choose. (Now this post is not off-topic! Ya me!)

Re: Knives going out of stock in Canada?
What disappoints me the most about this is I was really looking forward to some new knives like the Techno 2 and Swayback, but with these new changes it's guaranteed they will never get stocked in Canadian stores. I'll see if I want to risk importing them from US retailers when they do come out, but I'm not sure I want to risk throwing away $200-400 like that.

Thank you for that wonderful story, but maybe you should have asked if I mind you telling everyone...Lorelei wrote: ↑Sun Jul 29, 2018 6:20 pmI knew a Canadian once in college. Joking, that was a hilarious story(not me). I stopped drinking at a young age due to stuff like this.
