100% in! For the love of all things Spyderco, move the seemingly inevitable Manix2 LW Salt up the list, please!

Absolutely.

I think the M2LW is very much the "new" Delica in that can carry lots of not just steels but styles.

I would buy son-in-law a Salt version in a heartbeat and he'd use the heck out of it.

I didn't vote because I'm neutral on this one. I certainly wouldn't mind the ultra-high corrosion resistance but it's not something I really need. Maybe kind of silly but I probably wouldn't buy one unless the handles were some great color that we haven't seen before.

i love the manix 2 lw. of all the knives i’ve handled by spyderco (and i’ve been to the mothership), it is my favorite. i don’t worry too much about my xhp manix, but a salt version (preferably offered in more than just yellow) would be great.

Id be in for a full salt version. A Manix 2 Backlock Salt. But Id rather see a PM2 Salt vs. a possible Manix 2 Salt.

I've been wanting to try the Manix platform. This would probably tip the scales for me.

I have zero interest in one.

Now if we were talking the XL, then that'd be at the top of my wish list. Especially in FRCP. I'd be all over one.

Do you like the Manix 2 LW platform as it stands?

No, I've never liked any iteration of the mini manix. I think there are superior designs in that size range, and that a lot of the qualities that make the full sized Manix such a great knife get lost when scaling it down.

This is why I think a lil manix is a bad idea, because the issue would be even worse. Other designs accomplish the same thing already.
i've got my manix 2 lw and a manix xl here with me right now. i love them both, but i'm looking at them and having a hard time figuring out what you could be referring to, other than just having a longer blade, which i've seen that you prefer. other than that though, i'm failing to see how it loses anything else that makes it great. in my mind, the best part is the ergonomic handle and leaf shaped blade, which the lw manix maintains. all that is removed is a little bit of blade and a little extra handle that serves no purpose.

anyway, could you elaborate? i really think it's a great design and i prefer it over all the other designs in this size, to include the pm2 and the shaman, which i tried to like more when i visited the factory outlet.

I'd be interested in an lc200n manix. Mostly because I don't have a manix yet so it would seem like a good way to try both lc200n and the manix. Although Vivi does make a very convincing argument for the manix xl over the manix.

The Manix is one of my favorite designs, as most of you know. I would definitely want a Salt LW, especially if it were a nice, strong, back lock. However, if a CBBL were possible, and would not rust, then I would be okay with that. I think a back lock is more attainable.

I'm on the fence on this one. I think a Salt folder should be flow through, or easy to disassemble for cleaning, if not both. I'm also not a fan of steel liners, which trap moisture in my experience. I'd like to see the Spydiechef formula - a high corrosion resistant blade steel in a titanium RIL with bronze washers - applied to more blade shapes.

OTOH, the Manix 2 LW is liner less. LC200N was also developed as a corrosion resistant bearing steel to use in place of 52100, so I don't think there would be a problem making the bearing in the CBBL from LC200N.

If it was the backlock, maybe. But, I do not enjoy the CBBL.
I carried my 52100 Manix 2 for about 2 weeks. It now sits comfortably in it's box.
