Guilt about buying a superfluous knife?! What is this blasphemy?dj moonbat wrote: ↑Tue Jun 12, 2018 1:54 pmAt that price, it's a mandatory purchase for me. I won't have that many chances on a day-to-day basis to use it, but I also won't have plowed any serious money into it, so I'll feel zero guilt about buying a nearly superfluous knife.
I bet it could displace your pairing knife in the kitchen... in case you need a justification for buying one.dj moonbat wrote: ↑Tue Jun 12, 2018 1:54 pmAt that price, it's a mandatory purchase for me. Generally, if a knife isn't getting regular use, I've done something wrong. I've got too many other hobbies clamoring for my attention and dollars.tvenuto wrote: ↑Tue Jun 12, 2018 2:06 pmGuilt about buying a superfluous knife?! I'm sure there are people here who will do that, but at .12" thick it will make for a pretty lame paring knife.
There is so much you can do with a knife like this. I will be skinning and breaking down deer and hogs with it. Use it as a bait knife when fishing, bbq knife(great for slicing a slab of ribs, or a brisket. The list is long.zhyla wrote: ↑Tue Jun 12, 2018 3:52 pmI'm sure there are people here who will do that, but at .12" thick it will make for a pretty lame paring knife.
I'm in the same boat as many of us... this is cheap, it's Spyderco, it's a fixed blade... and there are no cheap Spyderco fixed blades... but what on earth will I do with it?
I don’t do anything but bbq from that list, and I have no shortage of kitchen knives. Seems like it would make a fine general use knife for hiking... but so does a Manix 2.
