Would be very good to have dodos available, I mean the chance to bring back an extinct species that people care about? You owe it to the world.

I’ll find a dodo for my avatar!
Edit: it was too hard to make a dodo bird avatar so I gave up, but don’t let that make you think I’m not passionate about odd blade shapes!

I’d love this to brought back but only in a steel that’s not s30v or s35vn. I’d take vg10 if we aren’t going “premium” othwerise lc200n, M4, s110v, hap40 or 20cv would all be awesome.

We need it back. BHQ exclusive would be fine, or just about any other specification.
Even if it was plain black g-10 and vg-10... I'd still get one. I want colors and tool steel though :D
Oh let me make it clear right now "ZROW" that if they did bring back the Dodo in PE & SE both with an original black ( or even blue for that matter) handle I would still jump on one. But another aspect is that for years I've said that the Dodo model would also be even better in a larger, bigger scale version. A blade maybe about an inch longer and possibly 3/4ths of an inch wider with a bigger scale handle would be a true workers dream EDC folder. It's great for many jobs even at the size it was originally made in and I would also like it to still be available >> but a bigger sized, bigger scale Dodo would be really awesome. There would be so many more demanding jobs you could do with a bigger/larger scale Dodo and it would greatly add to Spyderco's super line up of Reverse S type blades.

Maybe if I start a thread and bump it twice a day, after a few years I'll get that I want just so they can shut me up :D
They have to make a PE Autonomy one of these days right?

I believe it'll be in the form of the Autonomy 2, which is a completely different knife apart from the lock.
You just have to write two letters a week D. If you can get enough people (this is key) on board with the idea it could happen. They brought the Spyderhawk, Shabaria, and Calypso jr in Super Blue out of retirement. Why not a PE Autonomy 1? I'd actually love a PE Autonomy, it's the State of California that has a problem with it.
Who knows maybe Sal will see this and take pitty on you and make you a one-off. Anything is possible.

I've got hands on the small side, so I'm not sure if I'd like a bigger version. But I'd certainly give it a try.

Ha, I'd be ok with a pitty knife but I'd be happier if everyone could enjoy it.

I was using my Dodo SE today at work and it's just so awesome, I had to bump this thread.

Sal, did you know that your kid was a genius?

S110V SE would make my world complete.

Here's to hoping!

Hey I like your line of thinking ;) Yeah I would definitely like to see a new Dodo model have an upgrade with a newer/better blade steel and S110V would be fine by me. Although I'm not sure as to whether it would be a good steel for Spyderedges. If they wanted to make the plain edged version with S110V and the Spyderedged version with XHP that would be great!! Because I already know that XHP is a great steel for serrated edges.

The Dodo and the C-60 Ayoob both are models that are so good we just can't let them be forgotten. Most people don't realize that live in jurisdictions where only short bladed knives are legal that the Dodo is truly their answer to the problem. It's a great EDC and probably the best in it's size range IMO.

I'd most like to see a H1 SE. I feel asking for an upgraded steel on PE plus Salt treatment on SE, both done in Golden, may be a tad too much to ask for...

But, since we're shooting for the moon. :p

As for the blade, it is massively overpowered. I have cut every level of crap, stopping just short of metal banding. Did I mention that it's not even that sharp? I can't wait to see what it's like when I have the time to sit down and sharpen it.

I don't post often but definitely want to show my support for any possible dodo sprint run. The yellow version in the first post would be awesome but any sprint would be an instabuy for me. Please make it happen!

Just sitting at work on a Friday and thinking of a new Dodo sprint. I would definitely need to purchase the S90V or S110V or LC200N Dodo if that was the next flash batch or sprint run. Even if my fingers weren't made for the lock, I would find a way to make it work. The Dodo is such a cool design.

Give me a comp or backlock and I'm happy as a clam!

Seriously, thats this knife's only flaw in my book.

I love my Autonomy. Michigan made autos legal a year ago and I bought one the next day. It's a kick-*** working knife and while I understand that Spyder edge is great for cutting rope and nylon straps, plain edge would do the job and also not snag while cutting garments.

Plain edge Autonomy please!

I regret selling my dodo (orange PE) but I needed the money and it did have its quirks. At the time I didn't use a dedicated knife pocket and the dodo is a stubborn pocket hog. As for ergonomics though, the handle is even more of a dream than the Manix 2. I would most certainly buy a revival of the Dodo, but a wharnie version that gets me as much cutting edge as possible into that pointy handle tail would be a must have/must carry.

Don't need a wharn, that's what the qball is for ;)

The Qball is a good looking design... but its too pretty to compete with the Dodo. Q is way too refined and smoothed. :D
