I have just returned from Martial Blade Camp 2004, one of the BEST training camps I've ever attended. The camp was absolutely phenomenal, and all attendees had a fantastic time.
I'd like to be the first to thank Mike Janich for putting this event together. Mike went all the way and the quality of the event showed it! Mike Reid and Matt Zavalos (sorry guys if I mispelled your names!), Mike J's assistants, were top flight as well.
The camp was defintitely all that and a bag of chips! The time went very fast, and although we trained from 0800 to 2030+ every day, I came back energized and rededicated to developing my skills.
Well done!!!

Dear Brubaker:
Thank you very much for the post and for your kind words. I am extremely pleased with the way the camp turned out and am amazed at the amount of information we covered. In addition to providing a comprehensive review for all the MBC alumni at the camp, we brought all the first timers up to speed on their knife skills VERY quickly and still had time to cover the entire Counter-Blade curriculum, my cane curriculum, a good dose of Filipino stick, vehicle defenses, and empty-hand tactics.
I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended and to Mike, Matt, and Tom for their assistance in presenting the material. Together, you all made this year's camp a tremendous success.
Stay safe,
mike j

What a great time! Aside from the top notch instruction, it was great to see old friends and meet some new ones.
Thanks for the new skills in cane and stick! I look forward to incorporating them into my portfolio as I become more efficient in their applications. The review of the blade concepts and counter blade concepts was terrific because it brought forward tactics that were covered in the MBC & CBC classes, but I have since forgotten or have not been diligent in my practicing of these skills. It was a great review!!!
One of the best things about this camp and the MBC and CBC classes is that there is ALWAYS one-on-one instruction as the techniques are practiced with-in the group.
I really appreciate that as we are practicing the new skills, Mike, Matt and Mike walk around and check on the students and they work with us directly and throw in variations as to applications they just taught. It is a very well rounded instruction process. Thanks to Tom also for helping me out.
Thanks for a great Martial Blade Camp 2004 everyone! It was a great experience at training and after hours!

An outstanding high speed 3 full days at the camp this year. The amount and diversity of material covered was outatanding. Looking forward to next year if at all possible.
A pleasure hooking up with old friends and meeting some great new characters who are hard core players.
Matt, Mike: Outstanding assists from both of you and as mentioned you two were intrumental in everyones progression of skills sets. Most appreciated.
