I sharpened up my BD1 UKPK this morning while not so patiently waiting for my S110V model (it's been stuck in customs and the hopeless SA postal system for almost a month).

UKPK folding mules would be a great idea but I'd settle for an "all purpose" every day steel somewhere between BD1 and S110V .... XHP or even "ordinary" S30V. Maxamet and /or Cruwear would be cream on top.

The UKPK in G10 & s30v is a fine knife, and crops up on the secondary market from time to time.

If memory serves, this had 3mm blade stock and other than the lock, it's not significantly different to my VG10 Caly 3. I'm really liking the 2.5mm stock on the current lightweight UKPKs.

I agree with all of you, And the the UKPK should be a test platform for new and upcoming super steels as it can be used in most countries as a pose to a knife with a locking mechanism and over 3” inch which is not allowed out in public in some European countries and are banned in some others which is a crying shame but hey Spyderco has got our backs !!?

I'd love a Para 3 in Cru-Wear and Maxamet but it will be quite some time before I could afford them, if ever. A less expensive platform like the UKPK in those steels would be AWESOME! I would snatch them all up.

oh yes exactly the same feeling. I'd love to have the full carbon steel series: M4, 51200, maxamet, k390 and cruwear.
As far as I like to make some scales modding I'd like to have it with the full spring, not the half spring that use the moulded circle in the plastic scales.

With the issues we are having at the border in Canada I’m even more interested in a nicer version of the UKPK. Maxamet would be great, but I’m still hoping we will see g10 again someday.

Yes I’d like to see g10 come back. It’s more expensive than frn but so much nicer IMO. Thanks for the offer, I’ve got one.

I think the UKPK test mule suggestion is excellent! It's a nice simple platform with good ergos and blade shape. It would be a great way for folks to try steels that they can't afford otherwise.

I'd like one in Maxamet but I also couldn't say no to 52100 or Cruwear.
