Upcoming Sabotage

Post by MacLaren »

At least that's what the designer/collaborator calls it.
I really love this knife! The design is awesome imo.
I'm just really, really hoping that Spyderco will put a high end steel in it. Nothing against S30V, mind you. Just think that CPM-10V or Bohler K390 would be nice. Also, maybe CTS-204P or Bohler M390. Just such a big nice blade. And with all that belly, would be a good slicer/skinner I imagine. That alone makes me think that CPM-10V would be a great choice. I know the K2 with its 10V blade is just incredible. Plus, some more 10V would be nice. No?

Hey guys,
As far as I'm concerned, the steel choice is fine with me.
My questions are, will the flipper version ever be offered?
And also, will there be a mini version like Nati offers?
Just so happy that this collaboration is happening, otherwise, I'd probably never get to experience or own this design.
Later,
Don

What is the steel choice?
Or, did you mean whatever they choose is cool?
Sorry, from the pics I seen it didn't say what steel it had.

10V and K390 are slicey, while the Sabotage design is more choppy. And chips on K390 are a pain to sharpen out. Something like 3V or 4V (Cru-Wear, maybe) might be a better fit for the design.

If this sells well, I hope the mini version makes it with a flipper...

Hey guys,
On the IWA video posted somewhere here, Eric says the steel is S30v.
I have no problem with this, especially if it keeps the cost down.

4V Mule - $70.
BD1 Mule - $70.
I get that it's not that simple, but 4V is very interesting.

For that type knife, I woiuld have no problems paying extra for a premium steel. Again, not to say s30v isn't premium.

Love the look of this blade (especially with the orange scale) but far too big for me. Id like a mini version though with a blade no lomnger than 3 in.

So much for keeping the price down.

It's too bad, I really like the knife.

If they make a mini version 2, flipper or not, I hope it comes with a lockbar insert.

For s30v at that, not a buy for me unless it was on clearance.

I don’t care if the blade is made out of solid diamond, I have no use for a $300 knife.

I'm wondering if the title of this thread is setting off alarm bells at the NSA. :p

No worries. The Sabotage has been subverted.

A knife by any other name would cut as deep.

I look forward to this one most of all.
