I actually like the frame lock and open construction. I just think it needs a stronger detent.twinboysdad wrote: ↑Tue Mar 13, 2018 7:07 pmI agree, needs a back lockcaptnvegtble wrote: ↑Tue Mar 13, 2018 5:04 pmThe one thing I would change about the Chokwe is giving it a stronger detent. My occasionally opens in pocket, so I ended up flipping the pocket clip for tip down carry (usually I carry for tip up).

A jade/m4 Chokwe would be hard to resist.

Mine kept opening no matter which way I carried it. After putting holes in two pairs of jeans I put it back in its box and stored it away with the rest of the collection.captnvegtble wrote: ↑Tue Mar 13, 2018 5:04 pmThe one thing I would change about the Chokwe is giving it a stronger detent. Re: Chokwe Dreams
Luckily I've never had problems with my Chokwe opening unintentionally, but I agree that the detent is a bit too light.
On another note, it's the only knife I've ever owned that can 'tailstand' when open. The unusually wide and flat rear end that makes that trick possible also makes it one of the few knives that I think carries more naturally tip-down, too.

Re: Chokwe Dreams
Imho, the length of the blade and the frame lock really make the Chokwe what it is. I would buy multiples of any variant of it, but with a back lock? Not a chance. Please don't change anything but the steel and scale material.
Re: Chokwe Dreams
Agree 100%. Let's not use chip-prone steel. The Super fine blade tip really needs tough steel. D2 M4 cruwear

Still hoping for some kind of sprint run of the Chokwe. In the meantime:

I know this is an old post, but...
Yes. I like the way you think.
