knives, a commentary
I have just used my gray Calypso Jr. to cut up some boxes to start the eveing fire. Thinking back, I remember carrying a knife since the third grade in elementary school. We used to wear these boots that had a knife pocket sewn in on the side. This won't work today due to thugs mis-using knives. fMy grandpa carried a knife all his life as did my dad. I used a Case Folding Hunter while aboard ship as everyone else did exept the bosun mates who used a Case with the marlinspike. I have carried a knife all these years and use one every day of my life. Opening letters, CD and VHS packages, trimming my nails, cutting rope, skinning deer and just about everything else that you can think of. I feel naked without a knife clipped onto my jeans. I think that the knife is one of the greatest inventions ever but members of my family seem to get by without one. I don't know how they do it. There must be thousands of uses for a knife and I seem to come up with a new one every day.
Philosophical??
That was great!! I don't think even Socrates or Plato could have made a better case for carrying a Spydie. You have a good heart my friend. :) :spyder:
I also do not understand how someone can go through the day with out a knife!
If I had a buck for everytime I was asked "could I borrow your knife" or "do you have a knife?" I would be rich many times over.
Your points are well made. I also have carried a knife since I was 10 a little older but still had a SAK with me in school and every where I went. My Father gave it to me with a sharpening stone. In that second he taught me more about life than a thousand books and years of school could have.
I still have that SAK and love it.
I have not gone a day for as long as I can remember with out a knife clipped in my pocket.
Good Post :D
