Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2018 Report
the McNees is the bee's knees! :D
Which term means it is closer to being released, production sample or production prototype?

I like it too but it's soooo small and will no doubt be expensive. I wish it was at least Techno sized. I like the blade a lot.

The Brouwer looks very similar in size to the Chaparall... about the same blade length, same blade thickness, about the same weight, handle looks to be slightly longer, (by ~0.3 inches), choil present. I'm curious how it handles compared to the Chaparall?
Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2018 Report
The brouwer and mcnees both really interest me, but don't know if I can bring myself to buy a frame lock.

I would think a production sample would an actual sample from the production line. A prototype is just a pre-production sample that allows them to actually handle and test the knife to see if changes need to be made.Spydergirl88 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 06, 2018 5:03 amWhich term means it is closer to being released, production sample or production prototype?
So a model that has a production sample should be closer to being released.
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!

I love this time of year!

The makers mark on the Brouwer is soo cool!
The McNees is awesome, I love seeing new collabs like this! Likely not too small for me, I prefer smaller knives as is, and this one looks like a winner in my book!

The Amalgam is very nice. Wish it was using an exotic steel.
The Brouwer, also a nice piece. But I'd move the clip more towards the handle's end. Seems that too much knife will stick outside the pocket when it's clipped. Just an observation...
The McNees - lol :) I thought that's quite a beast till I spotted the small size of the letters printed on the blade, and the size of the clip screws. And then I saw the hand shot... :D

Cool pictures......but was hoping for Waterway too!
Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2018 Report
the amalgam is so sexy that i don't even mind it being S30V
Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2018 Report
WOW! The Amor and McNees knives look incredible. Especially that Sabotage. 4.1" is a pretty huge blade, I'd prefer a little smaller version but I don't know if I could resist that one, it's just so pretty :)

The Sabotage, McKnees, Amalgam, and Brouwer definitely have my attention. Love the little details, such as the orange G-10 on that Sabotage and stippling on the McKnees.
Thanks so much for the awesome write-up and pictures, Wouter!

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2018 Report
I like the Sabotage.
To me it almost looks like you can take off the G10 and you would have a titanium frame lock.
Or put another way it looks like a titanium frame lock with G10 scales on the outside.
Looks like a nice user for sure, maybe out in the field. :spyder:

Just don't use it with cold stiff fingers, it's a bona fide guillotine! :)

I am used to frame locks and liner locks so that shouldn't be an issue. :D  :spyder:Larry_Mott wrote: ↑Tue Mar 06, 2018 1:25 pmJust don't use it with cold stiff fingers, it's a bona fide guillotine! :)
