Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2018 Report
Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2018 Report
Thanks for the photos. I've not logged into the forum in a long while and saw the link off the Facebook page. I forgot the Amsterdam meet was coming up.
Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2018 Report

Wow that giant orange thing is beautiful AF. I want.
Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2018 Report
That Sabotage has my attention, but not quite as much as this much-anticipated annual thread. Thanks, Wouter, for putting in the hard work and giving us delicious images. Spring has sprung.

Wouter, thank you for your work.
You didn't happen to get a spine shot of the Parata, did you?
There aren't that many Fixed Blade Bowies in the Spyderco lineup.

Great stuff Mr. Blonde.
What's the steel on the Nati Amor folder and will the Spyderco model name be Sabotage?

Spyderco 2018 Production Sample - Jerry Brouwer
Jerry Brouwer is a Dutch knife designer that has also been a regular at the Amsterdam Meets. I think it’s extremely cool to finally be able to share images of his Spyderco collaboration. As has been mentioned before about this design, it does handle like a very nice allround EDC. If you like the Native, Sage and Chaparral designs, you’ll probably appreciate this Brouwer folder, it seems to bridge them all.

Spyderco 2018 Production Prototype - Brian Lai Amalgam
I’ve heard that the name Amalgam refers to makers that influenced themes on the design. However, personally, I also see an ‘amalgam’ of Americanized Tanto and drop point. It is not a small folder, but still very thin and very lightweight. Flipping compression locks certainly seem to be a nice combination for Spyderco this year. Do check out Brian’s own thread on his cool design on the Spyderco Forums: http://www.spyderco.com/forumII/viewtop ... =2&t=77599

I don't think i could get used to the flipper tab interfering with the lock. Nice knife apart from that!

Spyderco 2018 Production Sample – Jonathan McNees
The Jonathan McNees design was another Spyderco surprise for me. The extremely small folder echoes small Spyderco collaborations in the past like the toad. It’s a size-class smaller than, say, a Dragonfly. The McNees design, size-wise, is more in the Ladybug range. The ergos were surprisingly good and even after a first-time pick-up I could open and close it one-handed quite easily. A cool design, I like the stippling as well.

Since it has a decent size hole you can grind off the flipper I did that with my Domino :DLarry_Mott wrote: ↑Tue Mar 06, 2018 2:08 amI don't think i could get used to the flipper tab interfering with the lock. Nice knife apart from that!

I'd rather go with the Brouer or Smock personally
