The arrival yesterday of my first Kiwi, a Kiwi4, prompted me to grab my Air for comparison.

I'm reminded that my beautiful Air has given me fits. I cant't get a good edge on it, unlike my other M4s. And I've had to crank down the pivot to keep the blade from opening in the bottom of my pocket.

Unless a detent (even a lightish one like on the first Bradley) is added to the larger Air, you can count me out.

And I'm not sure what becomes of the gent concept that the Air was meant to illustrate.

I don't normally like larger knives, but I think a Chokwe with a 4.5" blade would be pretty sweet.

The battlestation with a >= 4" blade :) The Tighe Stick is getting close, but I'd rather have a fully lined, back-locked G10 handle than the fancy Titanium of the Stick.

Very interesting news: apparently a prototype of the SpydieChef 2.

I think the blade and handle both look longer. I really like the current SpydieChef's size as it is. I hope this revision will remain easy to carry.

Makes you wonder about the possibility of a Slysz Bowie 2 someday.

What’s funny to me is the knives that I would like Larger are already considered big knives.

Gayle Bradley 2 - give me another .5” cutting edge
Manix 2 - bigger but not a man XL. We really just need more cage ball bearing locks and bigger
Spydie Chef -give me another .5” cutting edge
More CBBL please!
Delica 4 Brown, Manix 2 G10 S110V, Gayle Bradley 2, Manix 2 CF Cruwear, KC Endura HAP40 pakkawood, Sliverax, Kapara, Manix 2 Rex45, Manix 2 4v, Ivory Straight Stretch

Yep, this is a great suggestion. We need some 3V and 4V folders in the larger Golden models.

I's love to own a Spyderco Shaman in Maxamet. Shaman is a larger Native. Shaman has a 3.6 inch blade w 3+ inch cutting edge. Next to my Lum Darn Dao those would be my favorite Spydercos.

PM2. I guess you could also call this a Military with a compression lock. Either way is fine.

I won't waste your valuable time so I will cut (pun intended) to the chase:

The world needs a
5.5-6"blade Spydiechef XL

*5.5-6" LC200N steel blade
*handles..CF (bacteria?) 6061-T6 HAIII coat?
*ball-lock with heavy jimping
*LC200N steel
*offer plain edge & FULLY SERRATED

Why?

The Spydiechef is a prayer answered and mostly got it right!
LC200N...... clear win
Titanium......clear win
Portability...clear win
3.32" blade.....100% great BUT only for 50% of most kitchen tasks!

The new Spydiechef is great, THANK YOU, BUT... it only partially answered the needs of us mobile chefs. I am a chef & nothing frustrates me more than cooking at the home of a family member or friend and the frustrating hunt that ensues for anything sharper than a butter knife. For me, the Spydiechef's 3.32" blade satisfies half of my food-prep needs, carrots, celery, pepperoni, small fruit, etc. However, it's inadequate for almost anything larger than a medium onion & unusable for eggplant, cantaloupe, slicing most meats, etc.

While I understand the legal ramifications of carrying folding knives with larger blades, and that market needs & profit (rightly) drive production decisions, I truly believe an XL Spydiechef would be a runaway hit and become a Spyderco icon and shelf staple.

Yojimbo 2 XL. Toss in M390 or CPM S90v for a bonus.
Looking for the "blurple" Yo2 to drop one day.
