Calling all Canadians - Canadian knife discussion

Very nice, we’d appear to be in the realm of / similar to the imagined “large Roadie”, whether or not the slight bulge for the dimples needs to be there would be a question of style... I kind of like the bulge on the blade profile.

Anyways, I had a look back at some of the sketches done last September in this thread..... any thoughts on taking the clip point style suggested by Jazz, removing the OHO Spydie hole, adding the opening dimples about halfway along the blade, and making it a slipjoint?

It’s a nice looking design. I guess I have to ask though, why not make it with a lock and much larger?

I agree, I like the blade shape, but I'd rather a backlock and a spydie hole.

So, I thought with the new CBSA crap there'd be a problem with locking blades getting imported here. Am I missing something here? Throw a Spydie hole and a back lock on there and I'd like it more. Who knows?

Locking knives are still legal. We just need a knife that can’t be opened with centrifugal force.

Just a thought, the pronounced half-stop on my Urban and Pingo makes flicking open very difficult. Half-stops aren’t a traditional part of locking knives, but including one in a design may mean they can only be opened in a slower more deliberate way. I don’t need OHO in less than a second, just the ability to do it.

If I got to choose; (and if it's doable with the available steels and the edge-type) it would be a Salt-version of the Spydersaw...we are a "Woodsy" country after all...and this "canadian knife" thing might be a good excuse for a sprint run. It can be "canadianized" however but please keep it lower-key.

Other than that a modestly sized FB really feels more "canadian" to me...I quite like the look of this, and it would be hard to get any more canadian:

Hi Jazz, like your backlock design,
a little larger, 4.25 inch handle with 3 inch cutting edge and moving the midlock
a little more forward (like a caly 3.5) in 2.5mm s110v would make this a must have.
