Can't decide which mod to do

#1

Post by Jazz »

I already modded this Caly 3.5's blade, but I'm not happy with it. Any opinions on which of these mock ups looks better?

You are the wharncliffe guy, I predict you would find that mod most to your liking. What about modding like the Kahr Delica?

The top mod gives you a Delica-ish blade with G10 handles though...actually like the top better mysrlf

Wharncliffe looks way more functional to me. That's what i would do if it were mine.

I really like both but I'd think I'd go with the Wharnie.

Something aesthetically doesn't flow with the straight spine. I'd do the wharnie.

I'd go with wharncliffe. I'm thinking about doing a wharncliffe mod to the Caly Jr sprint myself.

Agreed. I'd like it from a functionality perspective, but it looks off to me.

I'd definitely smooth and round off the top of the straight spine one, if I did it. Still not sure, because I think the Delica is the perfect wharnie. Hmmm.

I'm not a fan of either tbh haha. If I had to choose one, I'd pick the wharncliff

I like what you did with the handle though!

I like a little bit of belly on most of my blades, so I prefer the top version.

Beside the fact that i'd never touch/mod a Caly, 3 or 3.5 the wharnie is the one i feel. The other one, not at all to be honest.

The straight spine would be more functional for my uses but I kind of think the wharnie looks cooler. I if you wharnify it it’s gonna be pretty thick bte in the middle...that would probably bother me. Hopefully I’ve helped add some confusion. :D

Thanks, guys. I'm thinking straight spine. I already have a splendid wharncliffe. Now, should I round off the hump or leave the jimping area alone?

Round off the hump (bottom one) looks nicer.
