Re: Spyderco Gratitude Giveaway
I would like to thank in no particular order-
Wire Edge Roger- just a good dude and great knife trading partner
Jazz- everything this guy likes, I generally second- my knife preference twin
Mark Greenman- I think he rarely visits anymore, but his Ladybug Hawkbill for SD article and the Ayoob article both got me to purchase and enjoy those models. A great reviewer and wish he was still in the hobby
MOST importantly, Sal Glesser. I have said before I am able to make suggestions to Sal easier than I can upper management at my employer! Sal is the reason I stay brand loyal

Very nice. I'm in.
I've found Jim Ankerson's tests to be very helpful in learning about all the different types of steels out there! But in general, I've gleaned a ton of knowledge from everyone on the forums here, particularly in honing my sharpening skills. Pun intended. Thanks to you all!

I'm thankful for Doc Snubnose.
I commissioned a custom pikal knife and I asked for some input from Doc since he has a lot of experience with them. He had been pretty busy so it was nice of him to take the time to help out.

Re: Spyderco Gratitude Giveaway
I'm in. Too many great people to thank. Like SolidState who sent me an Introvert after we discussed his project, which by the way is still the coolest Spydie I've handled. Jazz, who made it possible for us to own a Wharnie Delica. The knowledgeable Deacon who sent me a little Ladybug surprise after I modded a knife for him. And of course Sal, who has sent a knife or 4 my way, set the tone of this forum and inspired forumites to create and dream.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

Re: Spyderco Gratitude Giveaway
I wanna thank Sal, Eric and Gail for the body of work that they have shared with the world.
This includes the people who actually make the knives, the staff at Spyderco, the contractors and collaborators.
Notable is the Spyderco spirit of sharing knowledge and actually listening to us, the users, and responding to our wishes and desires.
Salute!

Re: Spyderco Gratitude Giveaway
I am absolutely humbled and practically in tears that anyone on this thread would even consider me for such a thing, and I sincerely appreciate the kind appreciation some people have made towards me for my posts. That means a lot! Thank you!
While I really admire and have great respect and honor towards all of you, I myself would most likely nominate this honor of thanks to go to Darby, Demon Case, TvNueto (Pardon me, I forgot how to correctly spell your name), Chris (anagarika), Jazz, and a host of others. And thank you many times over and again, Sal, Eric, Gail, Kristi, Michael, and others at Spyderco Knives. Thank you all sincerely with much appreciation and thanks for your great discussions and fellowships and chats and everything else!

Re: Spyderco Gratitude Giveaway
Lance,
This is a very generous gesture; thank you for the opportunity. Although I won’t be participating in the Native GAW, I just wanted to express my appreciation for your kindness. I know whoever wins this knife is going to be very exited.
When you sit back and think about it, we have an exceptional family of like-minded people here. It’s a special thing we share: our love for Spyderco knives and products, our appreciation for each other, and our gratitude to Sal, Eric, Kristi, Michael, Joyce and the Crew for providing us with some amazing products (and for putting up with our occasional craziness, too.
)
I know I’ll likely forget someone below (my sincere apologies), but I just wanted to personally thank some of the folks who have positively impacted my life in some way over the past several years on this forum. Thank you for your continued friendship and kindness!

Re: Spyderco Gratitude Giveaway
Haha, ok folks, I have a little story to tell. I used a random number generator to pick the winner and just randomly picked a post number. The winner was EvilD. Then I realized that it might not have been fair because some folks might have posted more than once in the thread. Upon inspection I found this to be true and found that EvilD was one of the folks that posted more than once. With some misgiving, I decided the fairest thing to do would be to do another drawing with the actual number of single entries. I used the random number generator again and the winner is....EvilD, again. :p True story. Honestly, I couldn’t be happier as I was a bit dubious about whether or not I was doing the right thing. And for the record, had it come up as anyone else I would have kept this entire back story to myself, haha. As it is though, I found it too funny not to share.
So congratulations Dave. This one was hard earned but it’s definitely supposed to go to you! Please pm me your shipping info and I’ll get the Native out to you this week.
Thank you again to everyone for sharing your kind thoughts and gratitude in this thread.

Omg no way lol. Man I usually think to not post more than once on these sorts of threads but I wasn't thinking. I'm really thankful Lance and you can bet your arse I'll put it to good use.
Also, thank you to everyone who mentioned me. It really means a lot to me to be able to give back to others as I've learned basically everything I know about knives and steels from this forum.
