At Blade Show, it was said that the Little Native Compression Lock is estimated to come out by the end of 2017. Hopefully the target deadline has not been pushed back. Any news? Any idea what the steel is going to be?

Yeah, the lil' Native isn't bad, but I'd far rather have had a locking Urban, or even just an Urban Sprint with a stouter handle material.

I'm guessing that the 2.5" Native is *instead* of a Caly 2.5, not in addition too :(

I don't think so. Sal's comments on my thread about that were after the 2.5 Native was revealed. He never said they would make a Caly 2.5, however. We still have hope.

As long as Caly2.5 will have smooth scales and easy removable clip I will be in

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

It's getting close to the end of the year. That means the little Native should just about be here! I'm quite excited! I'm planning on going with this tiny terror to be my US spydie in my collection. Taichung, Seki, and wherever china are all accounted for...

The video unveiling was as the Little Native. Not sure if that makes it the official name though.

Depending on the steel and if the blade length is actually less than 2.5”, it’s going to be my Christmas gift. If the steel is LC200N, M390, CTS-XHP or S35VN it will be my perfect workplace knife.

So, does anyone know when these are actually coming? Eric said in their BladeHQ Blade Show interview video that the compression lock version would be available in late-2017. Is this still true??

I saw in a video a bit of the choil sticks up by the lock when closed, you can see it in a photo above too. Does it interfere with closing as much as the YouTube reviewed said? I'm thinking if it was a big deal spyderco would have taken care of it in prototyping.

it hits my finger... I adjusted the screws until I got it to free drop but stop before it closed all the way so it won't hit my finger and bounce back out. here's a pic I just took.
