What was the last knife you carried before buying your first Spyderco?
Mine was a Buck Rush. Oh how tastes have changed. Besides that I carried a Gerber EAB a lot and a few SAK's, and then waaaay before that I carried a couple Case knives but that was 30 years ago. Right before getting the Rush I had a couple Kershaw's too, whatever Wally World had that caught my attention.
All SE all the time since 2017

SOG Flash 1 and SOG Twitch. I no longer care for assisted opening knives. I need nothing more than a Spydie hole.
More CBBL please!

SOG Visionary I. A good knife actually, but the Delica 4 has such a comfortable handle that I couldn't go back to the SOG.
Re: What was the last knife you carried before buying your first Spyderco?
I was carrying a Buck Vantage Pro. Then I picked up an Endua 4 zome and retired my Buck. Now I carry the Endura in a back pocket and a Ladybug in the watch pocket of my jeans. Really enjoy the Endura, great knife, now I want a Delica too.

1984 Buck 110 and Schrade LB7 and 8. Still have them and still like them, never carry them nowadays, they're keepsakes.

Re: What was the last knife you carried before buying your first Spyderco?
emerson mini cqc-15 and emerson combat karambit.
I started buying Spyderco because they were half the price of an emerson. I had really only used liner locks and slip joints before I started using spydies and I quickly realized how much better lock backs, compression locks, and cbbl's were. I also noticed my spydies wouldn't cut me if they closed on my fingers like the emersons could. Add to that a wide variety of cutting edge steels, high production quality.... Made the switch and haven't gone back.

Re: What was the last knife you carried before buying your first Spyderco?
A Benchmade 3550. It is crazy to look back at it now as I would never carry it these days. It was a high quality knife though.
It was a 3 inch automatic with a dagger grind. It has an aluminum handle too. I carried it everyday for 10 years as my only knife. I gifted it back to the person who had originally gifted it to me so I no longer have it. They discontinued the auto version but I think they still make the manual version. For sentimental reasons I sometimes wish I still had it but I have too many knives as it is.

SOG Flash II here. :)
Re: What was the last knife you carried before buying your first Spyderco?
Leek Blackwash for me. It was my first clipped knife and I still have it. I actually carried it last week along with a Spydie.Spydergirl88 wrote:Kershaw leek
Prior to the Leek I carried a Buck Prince for years until it ended up in the top drawer of my toolbox.

Prior to my Spyderco devotion/obsession, I carried a Kershaw Cryo II Tanto, and a Kershaw Crawford Combo edge most recently. I have since gifted the Crawford to my old man, and I'm looking for someone to gift the Cryo to. They just see no pocket time/use now days.

Re: What was the last knife you carried before buying your first Spyderco?
One of those crazy Buck oval keychain knives with the bottle opener integrated into the handle. The TSA confiscated it in late 2012, and researching keychain knives on the internet led me to try the G10 Manbug. The incredible fit and finish on that little guy motivated me to start prowling this forum and my credit cards have never been the same since! :D

Kershaw Blackout, Model #1550ST. I carried that one a few years before I lost it and when down the Spyderco rabbit hole (the Spyderhole if you will :D)
Re: What was the last knife you carried before buying your first Spyderco?
Benchmade 615. Wonderful knife. Mine has been used and abused more than any other knife I have, and it still wants more :P
It is still my favorite BM that I own.

BM 806BK and BM 635BK. Even then I liked knives without thumbstuds. Though the McHenry & Williams 710 & 707 were my favorites. Two of the last BMs i still own
