I'd like to thank JD Spydo, for helping to keep the hawkbill dreams alive! I have always been a huge fan of hawkbills and serrated blades.

Also thankx much to Sal for creating this thing we all love so much!

Very nice sentiments here, so a great, great as well as generous post.
I would like to thank *everyone* here in what is essentially a USA forum for their friendliness to those of us who are not, and tolerance of our occasionally different mindsets!
I’d love to be in the draw if you’re happy to post overseas.

Well what can I add? I feel it as privilage to be part of Spyderville. I am grateful for that. I am hoping to meet part of the family again in coming (?) Amsterdam-meet. For now thanks to all, the Glesser- and Spyderco-family and all the members of Spyderville here. Thanks for a those fine knives (besides the money they cost me and the scars on my fingers), it was all worth it, since 1995 when I purchased my first Spyderco. Many more to come and to boldly go where no other company has ever gone before.......

Happy holidays, a merry Christmas and all the love and joy to come for 2018. Fijne kerstdagen en een gelukkig nieuwjaar!

Lance, you are far too humble. I think pretty much everyone here can join me in thanking YOU sir for years of thoughtful opinions and really interesting content and contributions! You are truly a stand up guy and this place wouldn't be the same without you, so I hope you stick around for years to come!

I don't really want the Native since my collection is nearing critical mass so I do suggest passing on me if my number comes up, though I suppose I could just pay it forward. Might be fun to do so regardless... Anyway, I gotta thank a little unsung hero here, our good friend Johnnie1801 for starting up the Photo of the Week thread which not only is a blast to participate in (though I seldom find the time or inspiration cuz I'm not much of an artist), but it inspired me to give the calendar contest a shot which I have been lucky enough to be selected twice in a row for! Not only is Johnnie the root cause of my modicum of niche calendar fame, but he's also just one of the best around here, a super cool guy and friend to all. Whatever the forum is paying him, double it! :D

Thankful to Sal, his family, and all the crew at Spyderco for bringing us the knives we love. Really thankful for all that post here sharing their knowledge, beautiful pics, and humor (Bloke). I've looked at Paul's Kopa collection many times and still marvel at it. His knowledge and sharing of Spyderco's history is truly appreciated. Saltwater fishing in my area has been a bit slow so I'm thankful for your continued threads and pic's Lance. Thankful for Christmas, the Joy, the Peace, and renewed Hope it brings.

My wife and I were raised by our parents to believe that the majority of people in this world are nice people. We in turn did the same with our children. Having been a part of this fourm for the last few years has only confirmed that belief. Thank you all! :)

Thank you Lance for the GAW. Don’t have the Maxamet yet, so if you don’t mind shipping overseas, I’m in.

There’re too many good, fun, polite, informative and kind members here. Can’t name them all, but I’m glad for the forum and the gentle atmosphere here, and for Sal, Gail, Eric & Spydercrew for trying to keep the course and not simply taking the easy way out.

This isn't an entry, as I have a Maxamet Native, but while I really appreciate the whole community here and I've thanked Sal many times for making several knives on my personal wish list a reality, I want to specifically thank Evil D this time.

He's been a prominent contributor since well before I first starting lurking here and it was a crazy coincidence when I realized we only live a couple of miles away from each other. He did an absolutely fantastic job reprofiling my Cruwear Manix and wouldn't take anything in return, and he's still the only other serious Spyderco knut I've had a chance to hang out and talk blades with in person.

Thanks man!! I still feel like I should come over and wash your car sometime or something (not now, it's too cold!) lol. :o

Not in, as other people deserve (and would appreciate) that Native much more than I could, but I want to thank you all and some of you especially,

Surfingringo, for introducing me to H1, making me "jump the fence" with my first Salt and starting this great journey of trying and acquiring most of the Salts, always coming back with more interesting tests, stories, pics and interesting things to share.

JDSpydo, for being such a polite and sensible folk always leaving "hint-hint" posts and battling all our battles regarding models we'd want back, or new ideas that finally come to fruition. For your endless persistence and your role in this great Spyderville, I thank you and congratulate you

EvilD, for your constant input regarding all kinds of blades, knives and ideas that always leave us with interesting thoughts, things to consider and re-evaluation of our carries. You always send a flow of fresh air to old threads and common stuff, and give good advice

SEF, for posting such weird, extravagant and always intriguing subjects, questions and cutting edge news. I always come back to your posts and the Off-Topic section to read your interesting divagations and see how you manage to turn things upside down with every post

and of course Vivi, for your constant "upgrades" and giving very interesting opinions on different knife related subjects,
Sal (and all crew!!) for creating all of this and keeping it alive, good and friendly as well as interesting throughout the years,

and all the members here who constantly send good vibes, good opinions, excellent pics, interesting comments and useful advice and make this place like a "zen place" to come and rest, forget about routine and have fun! :spyder:

Thanks for the GAW Lance. It is hard to single a name out. I've learned something from pretty much everyone here.

I'll give a nod to Cliff for being one of the first folks to both help me and to show just how DEEP one can go on edge science.

Honorable mention to Evil D for running his bourgeoning YouTube empire of video reviews and rebuttals. ;)

This is a thread worth responding to :)
FIRST, thank you to everyone for making this the most respectful and informative place on the internet! Too rare. Sal first and foremost for setting the tone, and leaving no doubt about the game rules.
SECOND, to all who share their real world, in-use experiences with knives and steels. This is my go-to place to learn, and has definitely tipped one way or another my buying decisions. Among these folks I have to highlight The Mastiff, who shares his wealth of knowledge about steels, but never in an overbearing way. Lance is no doubt and by far the leader in the "will-it-rust in corrosive environments" real-world experiences group :) Other folks who I always read are too many to name or remember, but include bearfacedkiller, zrowsn1s, vivi, evil d, JD, michael janich (of course), deadboxhero, and too many more too list.
Finally, but most of all, Sal, for the obvious - designing and producing top quality products that I can afford, but especially for listening and responding to customers. It is hard to think of a company that is that dedicated to the needs and interests of their customers.
Oh, and if by some miracle, I get randomly drawn, you can go to whoever is next, but thanks - it is a generous gesture!
Happy holidays!

This genuinely made me laugh. If you guys knew how little I care about YouTube fame lol. Sometimes it's just easier to explain in a video than with text and pictures.

Congrats on getting your design made Lance. I'm looking forward to picking one up for myself when they're available. Also, thank you for all your posts on real world usage of Spyderco's. I had a Maxamet Native that got switched for a regular one, but I think I'm ready to try out the steel again.

Thanks to Mr. Blonde for his wonderful photography, and his knife show reports.

Thank you to Nemo for his real world usage, and for inspiring me not to be afraid to reprofile a knife to make it work better for me.

Thanks to Jazz for inspiring one of my favorite Delica designs. The wharncliffe Delica has become my go to work knife.

I don't see him around anymore, but thanks to Hannibal Lecter for our past trades, and for giving me a chance to handle one of Spyderco's most interesting collaborations (The Gunting)

Thanks to Daywalker for designing one of my favorite Spyderco models, which was also the first knife my wife ever bought me.

And of course, thanks to Sal and Tazkristi for running a great forum, and for providing a welcoming experience for everyone.

I'm not sure if she's on the forum, but I want to toss out a thanks to Charlynn in W&R, for being helpful, patient, and fun to talk to.

Thanks for the generous giveaway. I hope everyone has a happy holiday!

I'm not in for the Native, as I already own one, but I would like to say thank you to everyone who makes this forum such a great place.

This is a very kind giveaway, and pairing it with the gratitude callout is a wonderful gesture. I would love to be considered for the Native - I've never had a Maxamet and would be very excited to try it out!

As you can tell by my posts, I am new to the Spyderco journey, and this forum is the reason (along with Sal's amazing designs and commitment to Core Values).

So this is pretty simple, but I would like to thank bearfacedkiller for rapidly and comprehensively responding to my first post on the forum.

Looking forward to continuing to learn from the community going forward.
