Para 3 vs Paramilitary 2
I am looking into buying my next Spyderco, and I’m stuck between the paramilitary two and the para three. It would probably be my hard use EDC knife. I like the size of the para three, but the ergonomics of the pm2. When I held the pm2 in store, it just felt better than the para 3, but it is a big knife. What do you guys think? Any other recommendations?
Re: Para 3 vs Paramilitary 2
I have 5 PM2s (soon to be 7), and 1 Para 3. The Para 3 is a great knife, but I got rid of all of my other folders from various manufacturers because of how much I liked the first PM2 I bought. I like the size of the PM2 better than the Para 3.
Personal preference of course.

Re: Para 3 vs Paramilitary 2
I thought I would like the 3 better because of the smaller size, but after carrying the PM2 for a while it is the winner.
Re: Para 3 vs Paramilitary 2
PM2 for me. Everything about it works better for me than the three. If you prefer the size of the Para3, be sure to check out the Native5 and the Sage series... A lot of people compare the Sage5 to the Para3, for good reason.

To each his own.Nothing wrong with the Para3 but...I like the Para2 more.Better ergos overall, better looks, better allarounder.Enough said.

Re: Para 3 vs Paramilitary 2
I just ordered my first Para 3 from Knives Plus. They do a few mods to some Spydies. I chose a black blade with red dyed camo scales. Really looking forward to it, but it will have some serious competition!! I LOVE my 5 Para 2s and 7 Manix 2s.......they both are almost perfect for me.
Can’t wait to check it out!!

Before I entered the Spyderco world, most of my knives were the size of PM3s, or smaller. I bought a PM2, and abandoned most knife brands other than Spyderco. Since that first PM2 I bought a PM3, thinking it would become the perfect EDC. I'm still carrying the PM2, and have bought 2 more. I'm not interested in more PM3s. The PM2 just carries small, but uses big and feels great in the hand.
Re: Para 3 vs Paramilitary 2
They're both great IMO and it all comes down to personal preference. I carry one of my Para 3s much more than either of my PM2s but that's only because I prefer to carry smaller knives at work. During the evening or on weekends sometimes I'll go with something a little bigger like a PM2, Manix 2, or Sliverax but most often it's still something in the 3" size.

I like the PM2, nothing wrong with it at all.... But after carrying the Para3 for a few weeks I realized then and there I had bought my last PM2. I'll be collecting Para 3 sprints from now on. They are both awesome knives though, you can't go wrong either way.

Re: Para 3 vs Paramilitary 2
Sage, Native, Caly3 all have superior ergonomics to Para 3 IMO. I'd recommend a Sage 5 for getting as close to the Para 3 as you can, or a Native 5 if you want something American and/or a lockback and/or a slightly better steel.

Ones bigger and one is smaller. I'd say get one of each.
