Just looked through your insta feed. You have a ton of nice spydies. How do you like the Putman scales? I just ordered some for my Manix.
I liked them for a while then got tired of the texture. excellent quality scales tho
Thanks for the reply. Enjoy some Shiner this weekend.
The first time I saw a Spyderco was the early 90s at a knife shop in a mall. I can still see the SpydieHoles through that glass display cabinet. My parents wouldn't buy any of them for me... so now I buy them all. :spyder:

It would be sweet if Spyderco made this one blacked out.

Yeah, XHP with their black coating. I'm not sure the chaparral will ever be made with anything other than XHP. I'll be buying this the day it comes out. It has all the features I'm looking for in a small knife. I'll be on the Caly Jr list too so I can compare them.

So, with all due respect, is this still going to be an offering ever, let alone in 2017?

I want one too, but can wait as long as it's right when it lands.

I know it was one of the "new knives for 2017" in the SHOT show vid, but other than that I don't think there's been any production pics, pre-orders, or actual release timeframes given. It hasn't appeared in a catalog or supplement, etc...

Sal posted in this thread in April that they were still refining the design, so I think they're still doing it, but my guess is that's why it wasn't in the mid-year supplement and that it'll be 2018 before it gets through the production queue.

It's not like they haven't been pushing out a huge number of models in the meantime.

We've got production in-house. I carried one today. It was one of my "baby's so I've been on it. I know it's a first run piece, and I'm certainly biased, but I think it's a winner.

I wonder what the weight is going to be? Is it going to challenge the Dragonfly in blade-to-weight ratio maybe...

That's certainly encouraging. Can you share additional information with us, such as pictures, specs, order/release date, etc?
