I agree, just ordered one from KP. :)Evil D wrote:RamZar wrote:I really like these Shamans.
Compared to the ParaMiltary2, it looks to be more comfortable in the hand due to the contouring of the G-10, easier access to the compression lock and not as wide when closed.
I think it's worth the extra $24 over the PM2.
Agreed. Not sure it could replace my Manix 2 or Sliverax but it looks like a winner to me.

Shaman seems to be nearly 1.5 ounces heavier than ParaMilitary2!abbazaba wrote:Curious to hear what others think about the size and weight.
I wonder if the liners on the Shaman are skeletonized.

Both BladeHQ & GP Knives have the weight of the Shaman at 5.2 ounces!

Re: Spyderco Shaman News and Gossip Thread
This is an appealing weight for me, about the same as the Manix 2 without skeletonized liners. I like lightweight knives too, but I sometimes also like the balance of a heavier knife that is not blade heavy. I think this is good in a working knife, and I'm looking forward to finding out how the SE compares to my D'Allara Rescue for cutting brush.
K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod

I’m waiting on a Knifecenter preorder. I haven’t heard anything and was wondering if anyone that ordered from them had any info?

Re: Spyderco Shaman News and Gossip Thread
The Shaman feels good in the hand. Has a robustness to it while being well balanced. For the equivalent of $1.75 in Quarters weight increase the Shaman feels more capable of serious use than either the Military or PM2. Really interested in seeing how it does in the field. Relatively thin behind the edge as well (≈ 0.03 behind the edge).

That BHQ video just sold me!
Re: Spyderco Shaman News and Gossip Thread
Stonewash is a pleasant surprise. I don't remember seeing that mentioned anywhere. This one could end up being a classic.

Both the GP Knives video and product description mention “full stonewash finish“ on the blade.Wrathhog wrote:Stonewash is a pleasant surprise. I don't remember seeing that mentioned anywhere.

BladeHQ’s description says: “Its handle sports ergonomic, matte-finished G-10 scales over skeletonized stainless steel liners to keep the Shaman lightweight and comfortable.“ However, at 5.20 ounces I wouldn’t call the Shaman “lightweight”.

Blade HQ lists blade finish as satin. I don't check GP that often.RamZar wrote:Both the GP Knives video and product description mention “full stonewash finish“ on the blade.Wrathhog wrote:Stonewash is a pleasant surprise. I don't remember seeing that mentioned anywhere.

Re: Spyderco Shaman News and Gossip Thread
I'm interested if the weight is correct. It's pretty beefy all the way to the tip so it probably is. Hope someone who has it can confirm.RamZar wrote:BladeHQ’s description says: “Its handle sports ergonomic, matte-finished G-10 scales over skeletonized stainless steel liners to keep the Shaman lightweight and comfortable.“ However, at 5.20 ounces I wouldn’t call the Shaman “lightweight”.

Cancelled my Knifecenter preorder and ordered from bladehq. Knifecenter would only say that they don’t have any control or any idea when a shipment would arrive. Not very inspiring.

Re: Spyderco Shaman News and Gossip Thread
So this could almost be considered Spyderco’s first front flipper according to GP Knives video. Nice!
Can’t wait to get my hands on one.
