Can someone help me understand the AT Barr One-Eyed Jack?
Re: Can someone help me understand the AT Barr One-Eyed Jack?
If this was a little more affordable I would get a second one and do a black rit dye job on the g10. I think that would be hot.

I personally don't mind the card suits, but I think more people would have jumped on it if they weren't there. I do like the semi custom features like the embellishments

Received mine the other day and it’s exactly what I hoped for. I like knives like th DF2, PM2, and Para 3 as users. Having more detailed knives, especially in these smaller sizes, is something I look forward to from Spyderco.

A quick pic of both.

Re: Can someone help me understand the AT Barr One-Eyed Jack?
It's actually priced very well compared to what AT Barr knives with far less detail sell for. The filework on the back looks absolutely gorgeous and I like the oddity of the inlays.
Wish the blade was thinner, but I suspect it won't be a problem in actual use - the PM3 is about the same thickness, yeah?
Any chance Spyderco will sell a non-clip version? I think this would look gorgeous with an opposing design on the other scale, perhaps as a flash batch. Call it Jack's Other Eye, idk.

It's a little thinner. My Para 3 measured at 3.700 mm while my One-Eyed Jack measured at 2.963 mm.JenWrath wrote:Wish the blade was thinner, but I suspect it won't be a problem in actual use - the PM3 is about the same thickness, yeah?

I don’t know, Paul. I take your point ‘any REASONABLE price’ Now I don’t know the man but I gotta believe that if you offered him $15M dollars he would probably find some time to put something together for you, haha. The Deacon wrote:Of course the fact that he's no longer making them also means there's no chance of getting a new custom one today, at any price.
“any price” covers a lot of ground, brother.

You're right Ken. I wrote that based on knowing that, when A. T. Barr retired in 2011 for reasons of heath, he intended to sell all his equipment. But, I'm sure it's possible that, for sufficient incentive, he'd figure out a way to make one more. I also probably should have added "made by A. T. Barr", as I'm sure there's someone who'd be willing to copy another maker's retired design if you offer them enough, even if it meant using the Spyderhole without the license A. Still, my point was that I don't feel the Spyderco version is overpriced. Whether it's "worth it" to an individual is another matter. As a lefty, it's not high on my want list. However, I do occasionally carry and use my 3" left handed custom.
