IIRC there was a heat treat problem with (some of) these.
Were they ALL recalled from dealers? If I buy one now, is there a possibility it's a dud? I know of one in stock but time & distance might be an insurmountable issue here if it's not a good 'un.
Thanks...

Re: Cruwear Mule question
I'm of little help here, but if I recall correctly, mine was purchased late after the heat treatment issue was corrected.

Re: Cruwear Mule question
I think they underlined Cruwear on the tang if they redid the heat treat.
Re: Cruwear Mule question
Here is a quote from my Spydiewiki files on the Mule Team series. I hope this helps.
"MT21P
Plain Edge
Cru-Wear
Sept. 2011
Jan. 2012
$59.95.
Recalled due to improper heat treat. Subsequent heat treat fixed problem. Of the initial run of 600, only -450 were resold after the recall.
Re-treated Mules can be recognized by the underlined word Cruwear. This is the first Mule Team made out of a tool steel. Made on Golden, CO."

Re: Cruwear Mule question
Yes, underlined, like this:
Also, my impression is the re-heat-treated CruWear Mules are the shiniest of the herd. Highly polished and reflective, but with a grey not silver appearance.
good luck,
