Caly 3 HAP40 dropped

I tried KO this morning and the site wouldn't load. I tried it again about an hour ago. It wouldn't load. I tried it just now. It still won't load.

I haven't been able to load it on a laptop all day. But it does work on mobile.

Thanks for the pro-tip. Got the site to load on my iPad, added the knife to my cart, and saw they don't offer free shipping. That gave me a momentary pause, then I realized $8 isn't a big deal, but for some reason in that brief time I also realized that I have so many knives and not enough opportunity to carry them all, that I was crazy to order another knife that I won't have time to carry. So I didn't finish the transaction and decided to leave that one for someone else that'll hopefully get use out of it.

We were flooded with orders today for it way beyond what we have on order. I may be able to find more but I can't promise that i will be able to fill all the orders.

I ordered from KO at 12:10 today and got a confirmation email. It was for sale, not pre-order, or else I would not have placed the order.

I just got another email at 8:54 pm that said:

"This product is not yet released but will release very soon. We were flooded with orders today for it WAY BEYOND WHAT WE HAVE ON ORDER. I may be able to find more but I can't promise that i will be able to fill all the orders. I will keep everyone up to date. Thanks for the order."

So they were taking orders without even having the knives in stock yet. I will never order from KO again.

I was a little suspicious of KO today, it did seem too good to be true. They showed the Caly and the Cruwear Para3 in stock all day, I wondered if they listed them before they received their shipments. Hopefully they come through for some of you guys.

I have the same email now too. It's funny--we put a few guys on the moon 50 years ago, but we don't know how to tell a website to automatically state that something is no longer in stock after a certain number of orders have been placed. Ummmm, right.

Bummer about KO! Haven't received a confirmation email at this point. Not too worried about getting one since I'm near the top of KC's pre-order list. Still want a second one if I can find one. Thinking about gifting it to a friend.

Yea that bites about KO, I've ordered from them in the past and have never had this problem, hope they aren't going Oso on us. Hope I got in early enough to be near the top of their list. Also have an early pre-ordered at KC so hopefully will snag one either way.

But I was right on the center line, and get a couple seconds over 2 minutes of totality, which was (a) freakin' amazing, and (b) a great once in a lifetime family event with my parents and my kids.

Not defending KO, but if you knew a shipment was coming in tomorrow, would you not start taking orders today? Kinda like a post pre order.
They should have cut off people ordering after it approached the limit, though.

I already have > 60 knives and had never ordered from them before. I'm able to buy knives elsewhere most of the time.

I already had two Caly knives on pre-order from two other merchants. The other merchants were honest when they took my orders. I knew going in that they didn't have the knives in yet.

KO didn't do that. No mention of pre-order whatsoever. They took my order- and apparently the orders of many other people- then later they fessed up that they didn't actually have the knives yet. They also took more orders than they would have been able to cover with their expected supply.

Yes, I'll never order from them again.

My CC was just charged by KC for a Cruwear Para 3, so I'm hoping the Caly 3 comes quickly too! I've had that preordered for 8 months already, so I'm stoked! :D Wife's gonna give me that special look tho when they arrive... :rolleyes:
