Post by Mancer »

Hi guys

What ever happened to the MBC forum?
Is it now incorporated into OFF TOPIC or?
Would be great to have it back.

Cheers

If it's MBC involving :spyder: products, it's here. If it's a product-neutral topic, it's at the other place.

MaNcEr,

Your profile shows you still in SA. Aren't you over here in the USA now?

Before the upgrade I thought the idea was to have more catagories.

Mike Janich no longer moderates MBC for Spyderco, and until there is a suitable replacement there won't be an BC forum,

Is this the end of MBC?

Well then, Carlos, has :spyder: been scouting for someone?

BTW - why did Michael J. jump ship?

ABTW - why did we lose Mike Hayes?

At one point, it looked like Mr. Skins was going to moderate the MBC forum.

AET,

I think that Blackhawk/MOD offered Mr. Janich an offer too good to be refused. Luckily, he'll still teach us Spyderfreaks and designed the Ronin and Yojimbo for :spyder: , so we're still getting the best of his input.

Thombrogan,

I believe you're correct. I don't believe that Mike "jumped ship".

To all:

Right after the new forums came on line, there was a lengthy discussion about the MBC forum. Although many folks wanted it back and Mr. Skin had good support as a potential moderator, that's as far as it went.

As for me, I didn't jump ship. I accepted a full-time position as Director of Product Development with Masters of Defense/BlackHawk Products Group. It was not an easy decision and involved resigning from my full-time job with Paladin Press and my position as Chief Instructor of the MBC program. However, I am confident that I made the right move and now enjoy opportunities I did not have before. I also stil maintain positive relationships with both Paladin and Spyderco.

I honestly do not think the MBC forum will be back. However, I continue to lurk and contribute here, so if anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask. I'll do my best to help.

By the way, I only look here, not at the off-topic stuff.

Stay safe,

aaw, well hope to see it back, its good and all to post on spydie products in one and about other stuff in another.
But it is way easier n better for the MBC folk when they can have posts on the use of say short sticks and questions about spydie knives all in the same place.

Lets hope we get it back

Cheers
