Great pics, keep and post that bottle picture, regardless of the lighting. Nice work, if anything, some minor tweaking in post processing, but killer entry to say the least!!!

Definitively got to agree with this one! I really love the contrast of all the elements of the photo. Some really interesting texture from the bright highlights and dark shadows of the cliff, and the deep blue ocean looks great as a backdrop!

I'm very late to the thread, and I agree with the majority on almost all the shots so far, so I'll just chime in on Carlito's for now. I agree with Mushroom and Gringo that the second shot is best. However I think the landscape in the third shot is very interesting, but the placement of the knife doesn't feature it as well as shot #2. And thanks for the great idea of the thread, SG but it's looking like I may not get in gear soon enough to participate :D
K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod
Note to self: Less is more.

I'm almost certainly going to try and reshoot the last photo now. I know I can get it with some better lighting, and now that I have some good constructive criticism to work with, I'm confident the shot will turn out better than before! Thanks again.
Just checked the calendar thread. Great work on the re-take Mushroom!

Everyone who advised me -- thanks very much! Your comments are much appreciated!

Lumpy620 -- The 4th shot, like someone else said, is best I think

Mushroom -- that knife-in-a-bottle is really cool and creative! I saw the version you posted in the calendar thread, and it's awesome!

Carlito86 -- my favorite is the last one, I like the desert background:

Thanks! Your criticism was very beneficial and just what I needed to improve the shot overall. Heres to hoping the Spyderco crew likes it too! :spyder:

Thanks a bunch! I took a lot of different shots for that photo, I just hope I chose the right one. :spyder:

^^^ It's a close call, but personally I like the middle one -- the horizon is more level... but in the bottom one, the Spyder and blade inscription show up better. They could crop out the turn sign if they want to simplify it to just the knife and yellow stripes in either shot. On the other hand the swimming pool is bright and pleasant to look at. Sorry, I'm not much help  ;)

You're fine! I have one without the sign, do you think this is better?
